Tourists Anna and Michael Kraczyk says their love of bourbon brought them to Bourbon Country. They're just two of the million-plus people expected to visit Kentucky this year, specifically for the bourbon experience. The Kraczyks say they plan on spending a lot of money during their time in the Bluegrass State. “A couple of thousand,” Anna says. “Yeah, a couple of thousand. It’s a great investment.” In Kentucky, bourbon production has increased 115 percent since 2009 and has grown to a multi-billion dollar industry. “When people come to town and visit us, they don’t just visit this location,” says Jeff Crowe of Heaven Hill Distillery. “They have a place to overnight accommodate, or they have to have a place to eat breakfast or diner or have another cocktail with their family in the evening.”Crowe says this American-made, barrel-aged spirit has created international interest, and believes the bourbon boom will continue to grow. “I think that explosion is now where near close to the final stages,” he says. “We’re excited about the future.” Now, there’s a new player in the market trying to cash in with new product. Kartik Kamat is making gin out of Kentucky-grown corn, mixing the flavors of his Indian heritage with his American upbringing to create Holi Gin. “I wanted to solve something in the distilled spirit industry,” Kamat says. Released in September, Holi Gin has been well received, medaling at competitions. Now, the product is available at some of the biggest spirit stores in the country.“We are our distributor’s fasting-selling gin,” Kamat says. “But it took us a long time to understand that we even had a product to get it over here.” This product, however, represents something much more than liquor. It’s the story of an immigrant living the American dream and perhaps putting Kentucky on the map for something more than bourbon. 2008

The expectation was completely different than what it is here,” she explains. “I had to wear a pantsuit, nice shirt, heels and things like that every single day. It was not stifling, but I felt regimented."Many people think the trend of dressing more casual has come from the younger workers."There’s a lot more of this millennial vibe and people wanting to get much more out of their lives than just at work," Hurd says.Dressing casual and comfortable is great, but there is such a thing as too casual."You don't want someone in a tracksuit, but you do want them to feel comfortable with what they are wearing,” Devlin says.Since every day is casual day, the company treats Fridays a little differently; they have theme days. Last week, the team dressed for Pride Week. "It’s more relaxed. We have open lines of communication amongst all of the team members,” Hurd says about the work environment. “There’s a really great culture at Inboxlab, in part because we are able to dress how we want to." 1560
In an effort to improve his golf game ahead of one of the most important tournaments of the year, Phil Mickelson revealed via social media that he recently resorted to an extreme "hard reset."The three-time Masters champion and Arizona State alum said he lost 15 pounds during a recent six-day fast. Mickelson said he consumed nothing but water and a special coffee blend during those six days, and he went on a bit of a retreat."The last 10 days, I've done what I call a hard reset to change and try to make things better," Mickelson said via his Twitter page Sunday as he prepares for the Open Championship in Northern Ireland this week. "I don't know if it's going to help me play better or not, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to try to get my best back."Mickelson hopes his recent fasting and weight loss will help him win his second Open Championship.
