RED BLUFF, Calif — Two people were left dead and at least four people were in fair condition Saturday after a man drove into a distribution center and started shooting at people. The two deceased people and the four injured ones were treated at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Authorities shot the man. Emergency dispatchers told the Record-Searchlight newspaper that the shooting by a man with “AR-type weapon” started about 3:30 p.m. at the Walmart distribution center. Dispatchers say there also was a fire at the site, and the suspect appears to have rammed a vehicle into the building. The suspect had been shot in the chest around 3:45 p.m. 669

The first step is a starting exercise, where students make eye contact with their audience one person at a time."Try to change the speech from a speech to the audience to a conversation with that person," Fazioni says.Next, she teaches students to be in touch with their bodies. It works by consciously feeling your hands and feet to take attention away from the fears in your mind and become more present. But the biggest key she says is concentrating on content."The moment that the student is able to move away from the mind and into the verbal message and making sure that it is clear I see a huge shift in the confidence of the students," Fazoni says.And lastly, celebrate! Recognize how far you've come, even if you're not perfect."Let's value the mistakes just as much as we value the success because through the mistake or through their fault we really learned to become better speakers," Fazioni says.Fazioni says you don't have to be in a class to try these things out. Renowned Tulsa saxophonist and Race Massacre survivor, Hal Singer, has passed away, just a few months shy of his 101st birthday.The French city of Chatou announced the news of his death. Singer resided in the town for more than 20 years."Weakened in recent years, Hal Singer has passed out peacefully surrounded by his wife and family," the release stated.Singer, who was born in Tulsa on Oct. 8, 1919, would go on to have an "exceptional 70-year career, from Duke Ellington to Ray Charles, to Billie Holiday," the release said.According to the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame website, Singer topped the R&B charts in Sept. 1948 with his instrumental recording "Corn Bread.""The City just lost a friend, an artist, and a great man," the release concluded.
