(KGTV) — A family forced to flee Paradise, Calif., because of the Camp Fire finally returned home after nearly a month this week to find their faithful canine had survived and guarding their charred property.Andrea Gaylord was evacuated on Nov. 8 but only allowed back to her property Wednesday, according to group K9 Paw Print Rescue. Her property had burned in the fire. During the evacuation, Gaylord was unable to get to her dog, Madison, before the flames had spread through the town and forced her out, according to the rescue group.Animal rescuer, Shayla Sullivan, responded to Gaylord's request to check on Madison, first spotting the Anatolian shepherd just days after the fire began. Madison, however, kept his distance, according to Sullivan, who was already in the area searching for other lost pets.Sullivan decided to leave food and water regularly at the property for Madison until Gaylord was able to return, the animal group wrote.As Gaylord pulled up Wednesday, there sat Madison — being a very good boy."He had stayed to protect what was left of his home, and never gave up on his people! (KGTV) - A San Diego homeless advocate known as “Waterman Dave” died Monday after a long battle with brain cancer.David Ross, 83, was known for using his own Social Security income to buy water for the homeless. He also found sponsors for portable restrooms. In 2010, Ross filed a lawsuit against a San Diego Police officer who Ross said assaulted him while he was handing out water in East Village. Ross said he suffered a concussion and torn rotator cuff. (KGTV) - Did Canada's Green Party really photoshop a picture of its leader to make it look like she was holding a reusable cup?Yes.The party put out a picture of leader Elizabeth May holding a reusable plastic cup with the Green Party logo and a metal straw.But it was a fake. The real version showed May holding a single-use disposable cup.A spokesperson for the Green Party said the manipulation was done so the party's logo could be displayed in the picture.May says she had no knowledge of the doctoring and the cup she was carrying was compostable. 562

(KGTV) -- California is among the least-patriotic states in the nation, according to a new report from WalletHub. The Golden State took the 48th spot on the list of most-patriotic states. According to the report, California’s military engagement rank fell to the 30th spot on the list while the state ranked 48th for civic engagement. According to WalletHub, red states are also more patriotic than blue states.
