Alongside the American flag and patriotic bunting, a banner unfurls across the roof-line of Jonathan Friedrich's Las Vegas home."Somebody finally has to stand up against these HOAs," said Friedrich's attorney Joel Hansen. "He fought hard for what was right. For truth, justice and the American way!"The banner proclaiming the Rancho Bel Air HOA is guilty of fraud proves Friedrich is not one to shy away from a fight."When you're right, you're right!" said Friedrich. "It's that simple."In addition to the banner, there are a couple of other new residents in Friedrich's front yard: large metal birds painted pink. The pink flamingo is an iconic anti-HOA symbol.Friedrich's battle to prove he's not part of the guard-gated HOA he lives in has lasted nearly six years and cost him more than 0,000."It's outrageous!" exclaimed Friedrich. "This was a simple dispute! Are you or aren't you in the HOA?!"From dollars to donuts, his story's got both. 960

After Military, federal and local police joined forces to push thousands of peaceful protesters away from the White House Monday evening, the ACLU filed a lawsuit in response to the incident. The ACLU announced the decision to file the lawsuit on Thursday, claiming that the protesters' constitutional rights were violated and the government engaged in an “unlawful conspiracy to violate those rights.” The ACLU joined Black Lives Matter D.C. in filing the suit. “What happened to our members Monday evening, here in the nation’s capital, was an affront to all our rights,” said April Goggans, core organizer of Black Lives Matter D.C., the lead plaintiff in the case. “The death of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of police officers has reignited the rage, pain, and deep sadness our community has suffered for generations. We won’t be silenced by tear gas and rubber bullets. Now is our time to be heard.”The officers deployed dispersants to push the crowd away.Moments after the confrontation, President Donald Trump exited the White House complex to walk to nearby St. John’s Church, where Trump held up a bible and took a few photos before returning to the White House.Although the protests were peaceful at the time troops and officers fired dispersants at protesters, the White House claimed that protesters were tossing objects 'at law enforcement. The White House added that a decision was made to block off the church because of rioters actions from the night before. “The officers had no other choice than, in that moment, to act and make sure that they were safe and that the perimeter was pushed back, because as we all know, a church was burning in that very area the night before,” White House spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany said. The forceful removal of protesters drew widespread scorn from Democrats, and some criticism from Trump allies, including former Secretary of Defense James Mattis. The incident also prompted an investigation in Australia as two Australian journalists were apparently assaulted by law enforcement as protesters were getting pushed back. 2104

American Airlines is extending flight cancellations into mid-August because of the Boeing 737 Max grounding.American, the world's largest airline, decided to extend cancellations from early June through August 19, to help plan ahead for the busy summer travel season. Southwest Airlines last week also extended flight cancellations for 737 Max planes from June until August."Based upon our ongoing work with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing, we are highly confident that the MAX will be recertified prior to this time," American Chairman and CEO Doug Parker and President Robert Isom said Sunday in a message to airline staff. "But by extending our cancellations through the summer, we can plan more reliably for the peak travel season."Approximately 115 flights a day will be canceled through August 19, representing about 1.5% of the airline's total daily flights, they said. The airline has 24 737 Max jets in its fleet. American has previously said that all flights that were originally scheduled on a MAX plane will not be canceled, with some being substituted with other aircraft. The 737 Max was grounded in March after one of the planes flown by Ethiopian Airlines crashed, killing everyone on board. It was the second accident involving the jet model in less than six months, after another flown by Indonesia's Lion Air crashed last October. The crashes killed 346 people in total. The causes of the crashes are still being investigated, but the focus has been on an automatic safety feature that may have forced the nose of each plane lower when it incorrectly sensed the plane was in danger of going into a stall.Boeing and the FAA said they are working on an upgrade of the 737 Max software to deal with that safety feature.Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said on Thursday the planemaker is closing in on a fix for the software, and a majority of the 50 customers that have ordered 737 Max planes have had a chance to test it using a flight simulator. He added that the update will make the plane "even safer" because it will prevent "erroneous" sensor readings."It's our responsibility to eliminate this risk," Muilenburg said.Muilenburg did not say when 737 Max planes may begin flying again.Boeing announced earlier this month it was cutting the production rate for all of its 737 planes from 52 a month to 42 amid the worldwide grounding. 2379

A Racine man was arrested Wednesday while expecting a pizza delivery. Mount Pleasant Police Officers were called to Toppers Pizza regarding fraudulent money they had repeatedly received from a house.Officers confirmed that the money was fake and were notified that the same address had called again with a food order.Officers went with the delivery driver to the address and knocked on the door. When the suspect answered and asked if it was Toppers they officers responded "Yeah" and the door opened. Before officers could introduce themselves to explain why they were there, the suspect tried to slam the door and the officers pushed back. The suspect, identified as Raymond Prideaux, did not comply with orders to stop resisting so officers tased him. He has been charged with obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.Prideaux has a lengthy criminal history including possession of THC, retail theft and OWI. 926
