SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Across the state of California, there were more than 10,000 sexual harassment offenses, as defined by California education code that resulted in suspension, expulsion or disciplinary diversion.A San Diego mother says her daughter was bullied and sexually harassed at school.“She said that he would take her pencils from her,” said Myiesha Jackson. “If she tried to get them back he would stick them down his pants."Jackson claims the male student didn’t stop there. She claims he took Play-Doh, made it into the shape of a penis and rubbed it on her daughter while making inappropriate sounds."I consider that sexual harassment,” said Jackson. An investigation report Jackson gave to Team 10 says the accused student admitted to rolling up the Play-Doh and holding it up while singing an inappropriate song that was sexual in nature, and the Play-Doh represented a male genitalia part, but the other student denied touching her with it.At the end of the report, it lists an action play, basically separating both students at all points of the day so they wouldn’t come into contact with each other.Jackson says that’s not what happened."The very day I brought her back she was in lunch, the line to get lunch, and they let him out of the office apparently, and he went and stood directly behind her,” she said.Magnolia Science Academy- San Diego denied 10News’ request for an interview.In an emailed statement an attorney for Magnolia Public Schools wrote:“State and federal student confidentiality laws and our organization's policy prohibit MSA-SD from commenting on specific students or incidents in which they may be involved. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman who shot through her neighbors’ apartment in Clairemont Mesa after they complained about noise was convicted Tuesday.Brittany Lefler, 37, is facing up to 36 years in prison after being convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm among other charges.The prosecutor in the case argued that Lefler was drinking and was “out of control” and “verbally abusive” when Erik Morales called police around 1 a.m. on December 29, 2016 at her apartment on Beadnell Way. RELATED: Topless standoff suspect pleads not guilty in courtMorales and her roommates told police Lefler kept banging on the wall and screaming inside her apartment. When officers arrived, Lefler wanted to know who called police on her. Morales’ 19-year-old son said that, at one point, he went outside and asked Lefler to “keep it down.”That’s when Lefler reached into her boot and pulled out what appeared to be a gun. "She (Lefler) said, `C'mon outside, I'll bust a cap in you,"' Henry Molina testified.Molina said he heard Lefler telling police she kept a gun for “things like this.” Deputy District Attorney Michael Reilly told the jury that around 5 a.m., Lefler pointed her gun at the people inside Morales’ apartment before pulling the trigger."She (Lefler) did it on purpose," the prosecutor said. "In a moment of anger and fury, she shot through that front door. Ms. Lefler sent a message with a bullet through that front door. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego Superior Court jury is deliberating the murder case against a 44-year-old man who admits killing his wife.Armando Perez was grilled about his relationship with his estranged wife; 19-year-old Diana Gonzalez.She was murdered seven years ago in a men's restroom at San Diego City College.He'd stalked her that day, climbing a tree to peer into a second-floor classroom to see if she were there.  After class he confronted her.  "I remember just losing it and I guess I stabbed her." "You killed her." "Yes."Perez testified that he was jealous and that she told him he'd never see their baby daughter again.Time and again he admitted guilt but denied clear memories of strangling her then mutilating her body; finally carving an obscenity into her back.The prosecutor continued,  "After you stabbed Diana  in her neck, in her chest, on her face; you knew she was dead, didn't you?" "I don't know. It was me but I don't remember doing it."Perez appeared to be fighting back tears at one point, as he was repeatedly asked about specifics of the attack. "I just became a monster. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego Police Sergeant accused of soliciting sex with a minor was found dead after failing to show up for court Monday. Joseph Ruvido, 49, was absent from his arraignment Monday, forcing a judge to issue a bench warrant and revoking his bail of 0,000. According to police, Ruvido was found dead around 4:25 p.m. as officers conducted a welfare check at his Carmel Valley home. Ruvido was charged Monday with two felony counts of arranging a meeting with a minor with sexual intent and one count of attempted lewd acts on a minor between the ages of 14 and 15.The prosecutor won't provide details citing the ongoing investigation, but says the acts were committed July 6th. Police arrested Ruvido at his home in Carmel Valley on July 26th, two days after getting a Crime Stoppers tip. RELATED: San Diego Police Sergeant arrested for soliciting sex with a minorRuvido was assigned to the SDPD Watch Commander's Office, approving reports and and bookings. Before that, Ruvido was a patrol sergeant with the department's Eastern division, according to SDPD Chief David Nisleit. He'd been with the department for 21 years.
