(KGTV) - President Trump addressed questions Tuesday about a possible closure of the U.S.-Mexico border, saying “I’m totally prepared to do it.” Speaking at a White House news conference, Trump called on Congress to make a deal and the Mexican government to stop immigrants from entering Mexico. Trump suggested Mexico had stepped up its efforts to keep Central American migrants from moving north in the past two days. The president also demanded change in what he described as "the worst, dumbest immigration system in the world."“We need to get rid of chain migration, we need to get rid of catch and release, and visa lottery, and we have to do something about asylum, and to be honest with you, we have to get rid of judges,” said Trump. Closing the border would have a severe impact to the U.S. economy, especially in border cities like San Diego. The flow of goods, including avocados and cars, would be disrupted, along with manufacturing supply lines. The Council of Economic Advisers was conducting studies on the potential impact of a border closure and "working with the president to give him those options," said White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders. When asked about the economic impact of a border shutdown, Trump said, “To me trading is very important the borders are very important but security is what - the most important.” Trump also left open the possibility of closing sections of the southern border instead of the entire border. WEST ALLIS, Wisc. – A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he ran from police and hid in a tree in West Allis, Wisconsin.The incident started when West Allis Police was called to the 2000 block of S. 116th Street for a report of a disruptive teen -- who also possessed marijuana.According to police, the teen ran into Greenfield Park before they arrived at that address. Officers eventually located him, but the teen swam out to an island in the middle of a lagoon. He then climbed to the top of a tree and refused to come down.Police said the teen eventually came down and he was then arrested. 606

WAVERLY, Ohio -- One of the four suspects charged in the murder of the Rhoden family pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in court today.Edward “Jake” Wagner was arraigned on aggravated murder charges in Pike County court.It’s not clear what role Jake Wagner is suspected of playing in the 2016 murders of eight members of the Rhoden family. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department inspector general says his team will conduct a review of the conduct of federal agents who responded to unrest in Portland, Oregon, and Washington, D.C.DOJ Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz announced the probe in a statement Thursday afternoon, saying his office will coordinate with the Department of Homeland Security.The watchdog investigation will examine use-of-force allegations in Portland, where the city’s top federal prosecutor and mayor have publicly complained.In Washington, investigators will look at the training and instruction provided to the federal agents who responded to protest activity at Lafayette Square, near the White House.Among the questions being studied are whether the agents followed Justice Department guidelines, including on identification requirements and in the deployment of chemical agents and use of force.“The review will include examining the training and instruction that was provided to the DOJ law enforcement personnel; compliance with applicable identification requirements, rules of engagement, and legal authorities; and adherence to DOJ policies regarding the use of less-lethal munitions, chemical agents, and other uses of force,” wrote Horowitz.The investigation is in response to requests from congressional Democrats and complaints from the public since the agents were sent to Portland, Horowitz said in his statement. 1428
