As coronavirus has quickly spread across the world, so too has the use of face masks. During a pandemic, putting on a mask may be the first thing you think to do in order to protect yourself. But public health researchers have no concrete evidence yet that masks alone significantly reduce a healthy person’s chances of getting sick.And if healthy people buy and use up large quantities of masks, there won't be enough for sick people, who are mostly likely to spread the disease, or for frontline health workers, who more frequently come into contact with the COVID-19 virus as they care for the severely ill. "That will protect them, so they're there for us. And it will protect other patients as well, preventing them from getting infected."The CDC only recommends that people who are sick and their caregivers wear masks. When masks are unavailable, a scarf or bandana can be used. But more importantly, Frieden urges sick people to just stay home. "If you're sick, don't go out. Don't expose others. An experienced Arkansas hunter was found severely injured in the woods Tuesday night, his body riddled with antler puncture wounds. He later died.The 66-year-old man from Yellville had shot a deer, and made plans with his nephew to field dress the deer's body together, police told CNN.When his nephew found him, the hunter was alert and talking, and was even able to call his wife. But he stopped breathing by the time paramedics could get him to the hospital, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said.Officials are not certain that the antler wounds are the official cause of his death, the commission said in a statement. He may have died from other medical issues such as a heart attack, the statement said, but there will be no autopsy.Injuries resulting from wounded deer are not uncommon, said Joe Dale Purdom from the Game and Fish Commission.On occasion, hunters may approach a deer thinking it is dead when it is only stunned or injured. Usually, they jump up and run away, sometimes injuring hunters in the process, Purdom told CNN.But this is the first time he has seen a hunter die after approaching a stunned deer.Purdom said it is generally good hunting practice to wait 15 to 30 minutes before approaching a shot deer to make sure it is dead.The victim, who had lived in Yellville for more than 20 years, was an experienced hunter, so Purdom said he doubted that his injuries were a result of poor hunting practice. For example, safety checks are made for the presence of 66 pesticides, mercury, lead and other heavy metals and 21 solvents that could be used in the extraction process, when oil is pulled from cannabis.But it can be hard for consumers to tell whether a product they're buying is made by a legitimate company. Some legitimate and regulated vaping companies, like Kingpen, say counterfeiters are copying their packaging and selling unregulated products as their own.The phony packaging is convincing to the untrained eye, some even carrying bogus labels that appear to carry state-required test results. Most consumers probably wouldn't know the difference — until they smoke it. The taste could be different from the authentic product, or the THC content significantly lower.To add to the confusion, consumers can have trouble distinguishing legal dispensaries from unlicensed shops, which in Los Angeles sometimes operate in the same neighborhoods and appear indistinguishable.With counterfeits leaching into California's illegal vape market, the threat for licensed companies is not just millions in lost revenue.
