A metro Detroit mother says her 2-year-old’s severe medical disorder has been devastating. Even worse, she says Health Alliance Plan, which sells health insurance in several states, has refused to cover a crucial formula her daughter’s needs. For 2-year-old Abby Bortnick, the food you would find in the refrigerator is dangerous and could cause serious health complications. Her mother says it’s part of the reason she’s been in a battle with the health insurance company, for more than a year.The extremely rare digestive condition is treated differently in other states. Michelle Bortnick says more than 20 other states along with the FDA consider the formula needed by Abby to be medical food. However, she says HAP has labeled it a supplement they won’t cover. Without the formula, Abby’s body treats food as an allergen and rejects it. That's significant for anxiety."And while the behavior itself isn't necessarily incriminating, Dr. Brown said it's all about the context."And that's particularly - the elevator thing was extremely out of context," he explained.Once inside the elevator, he noted how - multiple times - Paddock backs into the corner even though he's alone."And the corner he chose was the corner with the camera, such that the camera showed the top of his head and not his face," Dr. Brown said. "Even if there wasn't a camera, that's odd behavior. A rare white tiger has mauled to death its keeper in a zoo in southern Japan, zoo official Takuro Nakazako told CNN.Police are investigating the incident after 40-year old Akira Furusho was found unconscious and covered in blood in the tiger enclosure at the Hirakawa Zoo, Kagoshima on Monday.The tiger named "Riku," one of four at the zoo, was tranquilized after the attack but was not put down because Furusho's family did not want it killed.White tigers are a genetic variant of the more common orange-and-black Bengal tiger but they have black stripes and white fur.The zoo was open as normal on Tuesday but the white tiger observation zone was restricted "as police continued to investigate the case," AFP reported.Riku, who was born at the zoo, is about 1.8 meters in length and weigh 374 pounds, AFP said. 820
