From celebrities to the everyday women, shapewear has become a wardrobe staple.   Dr. Stephen New of Rose Medical Center says depending on how tight you wear them, they could have can have ramifications to your health.  "If shapewear with its tight compression, I would expect symptoms, especially if it was pushing against the stomach," Dr. New says.For most women who wear shapewear, it's only for a few hours. Dr. New says those side effects would then be temporary.   "It could cause acid reflux symptoms and certainly exacerbate gas and bloating-like symptoms, which is uncomfortable as well," the doctor says.However, if you're someone who makes these apart of your everyday wardrobe, the long-term effects are dangerous.  "Where is acid reflux in a very, very small number of patients could contribute to inflammation scar tissue inflammation or narrowing of the esophagus," Dr. New explains.So, if you plan to wear shapewear under your holiday dresses this season, or really any day, Dr. New says to limit the time you’re in them and make sure they aren't digging into you.    1132

FULLERTON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Sunday, the coroner’s office identified a 6-year-old girl who was mowed down by a suspected drunken driver in Fullerton.Grace Aguilar was killed around 2:15 p.m. Saturday after a driver, Maximino Delgado, 52, drove onto a sidewalk on the 1400 block of Lombard Street.Authorities say Delgado was attempting to make a turn when he lost control of the vehicle and struck Aguilar.RELATED: Pedestrian killed after being hit by train near Sorrento Valley coaster stationDelgado continued to drive on the sidewalk before reentering the road and striking a parked car.Police performed a breath test on Delgado and reportedly discovered his blood alcohol level was .23 percent, far above the level of drunken driving at .08 percent.Aguilar was taken to the hospital where she later died.RELATED: Tow truck crashes into pedestrian and bicyclist in Mira MesaDelgado was arrested and booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter. German actor Karin Dor, who played Helga Brandt in the James Bond film "You Only Live Twice," died Monday, according to the Associated Press.Dor, 79, played a would-be assassin in the 1967 film. She died in a care home, according to German news agency dpa. Dor had a long career that began when she was 17, according to AP. She played roles in TV series "Ironside" and "The F.B.I." She also played a role in the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Topaz."   468
