Power restoration after Hurricane Maria, which struck almost a year ago, has been completed, according to the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority."According to our reports, all of our clients that were without service since Maria now have electricity," said Geraldo Qui?ones a spokesman for the power authority, which is known as PREPA. To restore power to the existing line however, Wallace said PREPA does not need additional permission to maintain the line in El Yunque."We knew from the beginning we would be one of the last ones," Wallace said, adding that power for the Forest Service headquarters was restored in April.Qui?ones said the two organizations remain in constant communication."We are confident that this will be resolved soon," he said. (KGTV) - A teenager is using chalk art to try and lift the spirits of her neighbors during the Coronavirus Pandemic.Lori Vildibill has covered the sidewalks of her street in inspirational messages and doodles, hoping they can make people smile."It's mostly things I had been saying to myself to try to get me to feel better," she says of where she got the ideas for dozens of messages. "Then I thought, I can't just write a bunch of words. Maybe I'll draw a little flower here and there to brighten up people's days."Lori, a Senior in High School, says missing out on things like prom, graduation, and yearbook signing because of Coronavirus had been somewhat depressing. She thought the drawings could change her moods, and also help her neighbors."I realized that I'm probably not the only person feeling that way, and if I can encourage people to just smile or get outside and walk, check out what I'm doing, it would be good for everyone," she says.Even though recent rain has washed away most of the drawings already, Lori says she'll replace them with new ones. President Donald Trump once again floated the idea of adding a "Space Force" as a branch of the US military on Tuesday at the White House.Trump's comments came as he presented the Army college football team with the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, annually awarded to the best college football team among Army, Navy and Air Force."You will be part of the five proud branches of the United States Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and the Coast Guard," Trump said, addressing the Army football team. "And we're actually thinking about a sixth, and that would be the Space Force. (KGTV) - Poway synagogue shooting suspect John Earnest should not have been able to buy the gun used in the April attack, according to state law.California Fish and Wildlife officials confirmed to 10News that the hunting license that Earnest, 19, used to get around the state's age limit of 21 was invalid at the time of purchase.Earnest picked up the AR-15 style weapon used in the attack from San Diego Guns on April 26, a day before he attacked worshipers at the Chabad of Poway, killing congregant Lori Kaye and injuring three others. Search warrants show that Earnest did have a hunting license but it was not valid until July 1, 2019. RELATED: Poway shooting suspect did not have valid hunting license when he bought gun, state senator saysIn other words, it was too soon for him to buy the gun used in the attack. On Tuesday, an employee at San Diego Guns declined an interview but said "We did everything properly. We did everything we needed."If that's the case, then question remains over how Earnest was able to buy the gun. The onus could be on the state. Danielle Rudolph directs sales and operations at Poway Weapons and Gear Range, which was not involved with Earnest. She says people who buy firearms must fill out a detailed application that goes to the state Justice Department. Applicants have to include details on any exemptions, such as hunting licenses. After a 10 day waiting period, the customer returns to the store to find out if the state approved their application."California does have one of the strictest background checks in the nation," Rudolph said. "We know they go through numerous different databases and if it comes back approved, we don't have anything else to go on based on what California is telling us."Rudolph added a gun shop can stop a sale if a customer is making erratic or dangerous comments, though that is rare.
