A Mississippi school district has apologized and a high school band director has been suspended after the band staged a halftime skit that depicted police being held at gunpoint. The controversial skit came as the Forest Hill High School band from Jackson performed Friday during a football game against Brookhaven High School to the south. It shocked many at the game in Brookhaven, where just six days earlier two police officers were killed in a shootout with a suspect."I was sad because of what happened last weekend, and it felt like they were making fun of it," Sarah McDonald, a Brookhaven High School student, told CNN affiliate WJTV.A woman who said she was a graduate of Brookhaven High School found the performance insensitive."I was shocked by the halftime performance just because of everything that our community is going through," the woman told CNN affiliate WLBT. "No disrespect to Forest Hill, when they decided to do a performance, they should've took that into consideration that we were already going through a lot at this time. We are still trying to figure out what needs to be done about the situation." 1135
A school bus driver's camera recorded the scary moment when another driver stopped in the middle of the Massachusetts Pike, exited his car and climbed onto the hood of the bus.Video recorded Tuesday shows a man forcing the bus to stop in the middle of the highway, then climb onto the vehicle's hood. The man got out right in the middle of the highway and he goes to the door of the bus.The bus driver does not let him in. So, he then goes back to the front and jumps right on the hood. The bus driver says the man was screaming that the windows on the bus were too dark."A man jumped on my bus going on the Mass. Turnpike, pulled me over in the middle lane and stopped the bus," said the bus driver."What did he say to you?" asked WCVB reporter John Atwater."His words were, 'Why are your windows dark?' I had the same reaction! I've got tons of stuff that shows people going through my bus, going through the red lights, and I think it's good to have it," said the driver.State police say they have identified the man who climbed onto the hood.No charges have been filed at this time.Courtesy of WCVB via CNN Newsource 1161

He's pleaded not guilty, but it's a disturbing headline — even more disturbing when you consider there are hundreds more like him.Yes, hundreds. According to research from Bowling Green State University, police officers in the US were charged with forcible rape 405 times between 2005 and 2013. That's an average of 45 a year. A metro Detroit mother says her 2-year-old’s severe medical disorder has been devastating. Even worse, she says Health Alliance Plan, which sells health insurance in several states, has refused to cover a crucial formula her daughter’s needs. For 2-year-old Abby Bortnick, the food you would find in the refrigerator is dangerous and could cause serious health complications. Her mother says it’s part of the reason she’s been in a battle with the health insurance company, for more than a year. The extremely rare digestive condition is treated differently in other states. Michelle Bortnick says more than 20 other states along with the FDA consider the formula needed by Abby to be medical food. However, she says HAP has labeled it a supplement they won’t cover. Without the formula, Abby’s body treats food as an allergen and rejects it. The trouble has existed for more than a year and the costs have been hundreds of dollars a month. “We have been battling with HAP for so long and without help, she will die,” says Michelle.HAP issued the following statement to WXYZ: 1097
