Sixty days of bed rest is the order for folks chosen to participate in a study being conducted by NASA and ESA on Earth.Participants from the United States will need a passport, as this study is happening in Germany."The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is researching how the body changes in weightlessness," says the study sign-up page online. "Bed rest simulates this condition. We are looking for test persons who take part in a bed rest study from September to December 2019 in Cologne and spend 60 days lying down. "Based on the study results, scientists are developing countermeasures that reduce the negative effects of weightlessness on astronauts," the website says.The study is called "AGBRESA" (Artificial Gravity Bed Rest Study) and the information that comes from it is used to improve conditions for astronauts in space."We accompany you on your mission as a terrestrial astronaut.
