WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A man has been arrested and charged after police say he threw his wife into the Provo River in Utah on Sunday.According to an arrest report, 61-year-old Douglas Harold Green and his wife were at the Provo River Resort, located just downriver from Deer Creek State Park in Wasatch County, when they began arguing over dinner arrangements.Police say Green became angry and threatened to drown her in the river. He then dragged her to the bank of the Provo River and forced her in, the probable cause statement says.Witnesses said they tried to help her, but Green yelled at them to stay away.Police said the woman had a bruise on each arm, which she said were from Green dragging her. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Vista judge has dropped two charges against Gerardo Martinez Sr., a father arrested last week by San Diego County Sheriff's deputies. Martinez Sr. was facing two charges, felony resisting arrest, and lynching of an officer. The video surfaced last week. Martinez Sr. and his son, Gerardo Martinez Jr., arrested by five deputies. The family says the deputies used excessive force and that the two men were compliant and already in handcuffs. On Monday, the family demanded the department release body cam video and conduct an independent investigation. They also want to see the deputies involved prosecuted. The sheriff's department says they were called for a domestic dispute and that Martinez Jr. was armed with a knife. Deputies were also called to the home in late April for another incident involving Martinez Jr. The family's legal team did not address any questions about what lead up to the video but said Martinez Jr. has an issue with mental illness. They plan on filing civil lawsuits at the end of the week. The deputies in the video are on administrative duty as the investigation continues.   1186

VISTA (CNS) - A 59-year-old motorist was killed Friday in a solo crash on state Route 78 near Shadowridge Golf Club.The man lost control of the Ford F-150 for unknown reasons while driving in the far left-hand westbound lane of the freeway west of Sycamore Avenue in Vista shortly after 12:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.The vehicle veered to the right, crossing all lanes before leaving the roadway, plunging down an embankment and striking a tree, CHP public-affairs Officer Mark Latulippe said.Paramedics took the motorist, an Oceanside resident, to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name was withheld pending family notification.Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, Latulippe said. 767
