The Macy's at Herald Square boarded up its windows in anticipation of protests from the result of the presidential election. PIX11 News cameras saw workers boarding up along the famous storefront Friday evening.A spokesperson for Macy’s told PIX11 News on Saturday the windows were initially scheduled to be covered up next week."Our windows at Macy’s Herald Square were previously scheduled to be dark next week in set-up for our annual holiday displays. Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing additional security measures at several of our stores,” the spokesperson said.A variety of Fifth Avenue stores also were boarded up on Friday afternoon, some as early as 9 a.m. Many Manhattan stores, including Macy's at Herald Square, were looted in the unrest following protests against the police custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.PIX11 News' James Ford also contributed to this story. 915

The NFL has revealed some of its plans regarding Super Bowl LV in Tampa. The league is now planning for 20% capacity at the stadium, ESPN reports.Crowds at football games this year have been mixed, with some teams allowing limited fans and some not allowing any guests.ESPN's Adam Schefter also reports if a Week 18 is added to this regular season, the off week would be eliminated and Super Bowl LV would stay on February 7.Tampa is set to host the Super Bowl, and just last month the NFL said it was preparing for a full house.Thousands are also expected to attend events that week along the Riverwalk downtown.Tampa's Mayor Jane Castor said she had a meeting on Tuesday related to the Super Bowl and plans are in place for 16,000 to 70,000 fans and it will take more time to determine how many people will be allowed to attend."We’re going to put on the most spectacular Super Bowl ever under probably the most different circumstances ever, but this is Tampa and we do things big here so it will be safe and it will be spectacular," she added.The President and CEO of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce Kelly Flannery said in a statement, "The Super Bowl provides for a considerable economic boost for host cities and our local businesses will benefit from having Super Bowl 55 in Tampa in an incredible way."Rob Higgins with Tampa Bay Sports Commission said they are working closely with the NFL and local public health officials to determine what the capacity will be for the Super Bowl."It is not known at this time. We know that the numbers will evolve over the next few months. We'll be following conditions in the county and the state, and the NFL will make a determination based on approvals locally. The House Intelligence Committee on Friday released a redacted version of the Republican report on the committee's year-long Russia investigation, in which, GOP members say, they found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and disputed the intelligence community's findings that Vladimir Putin tried to help elect Donald Trump President.The committee released the report with redactions from the intelligence community, along with a redacted Democratic dissent disputing the Republican conclusions.Rep. Mike Conaway, the Texas Republican who led the committee's Russia probe, said in a statement that the intelligence community made "overzealous redactions" to the report, and the committee plans to challenge them to get more of the report declassified."Many of the redactions include information that is publicly available, such as witness names and information previously declassified," Conaway said.Republicans ended their investigation into Russia's 2016 election meddling last month, concluding they found no evidence that Trump's team had colluded with Russians."We found no evidence of collusion, and so we found perhaps some bad judgment, inappropriate meetings," Conaway said when they submitted their report for declassification.But Democrats say Republicans failed to interview key witnesses and issue subpoenas to obtain necessary information, and were not interested in uncovering collusion. The NFL is further limiting player access to team facilities as it attempts to enhance safety measures during the pandemic.In a memo sent to the 32 clubs and obtained by The Associated Press, teams must close their facilities for two days after games, with some exceptions.Beginning Monday, all teams playing on a Sunday must close those facilities for the next two days.Only players needing medical attention for injuries or in rehab programs may enter the team complex.Coaches can access the facility but must work in their own offices and can't conduct meetings except virtually.The Associated Press reported that players that play on Monday couldn't access their facilities until Thursday, and facilities must remain closed until Sunday to players who play Thursday.According to USA Today, who was the first to report the memo, the league is also lifting its 62-player road game limit for teams, which will allow teams to fill its 48-man gameday roster with practice squad players in case issues arise with the coronavirus. This change will go into effect this week.All players who plan to attend a game must also stay at the team hotel the night before the game, The AP reported.The league had its second major outbreak in the last two weeks, with the Baltimore Ravens having at least two dozen people testing positive. 1332
