Body cam footage from Goodlettsville, Tennessee police shows officers interacting with a drunk Steven Rowe two hours before he crashed his car head-on into a car full of teenagers.Footage recorded at 1:30 a.m. on Jully 28, shows several officers confront Rowe outside Silverado's, a bar in Goodlettsville. Officers comment on how intoxicated Rowe appears to be. He's slow to respond to questions and seems confused about where he parked his car and has lost his keys.Rowe thinks somebody has stolen his car, but police tell him he's too drunk to make a report."You've got to have a place to go before we arrest you for a PI (public intoxication)," one officer said.Rowe, 28, died at the scene of a crash on Highway 40 at the southeastern edge of Greenbrier before 4:00 a.m. on July 28. He drifted over into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a Honda Element head on.Inside that car were four young people, all 18 or 19 years old. Erica Tackett, Chase Hampton and Perry and Marlie Ford were all in that car. All sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, Marlie Ford by helicopter.  1130

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Five people, including two elementary school students, were arrested after police investigated online threats made against another student. The Bloomington Police Department began investigating after a Fairview Elementary School representative notified police about a threatening Instagram video on Feb. 17. The video showed two students making threats and showing an AK-47-type weapon. One of the boys in the video made threats toward a female student and her brother. He said the gun was real and the two people were going to get "lit up," police say.In the investigation, police learned the threats were made after an argument about a dating relationship between the parties. Police then went to a house to locate the weapon in the video. At the house, a woman, Laquita S. Perry-Leverston, 33, went to the trunk of a car, where she retrieved the weapon and a pistol. Both were BB guns, police say. After a warrant was obtained, police began searching the house. One person in the house, a 17-year-old boy, told officers they weren't going to touch him, according to police. He began resisting and was arrested by officers. The 17-year-old was handcuffed and placed into a patrol vehicle, where he tried to kick out a window and threatened to kill an officer, police say.Two adults, Paris R. Leverston Sr., 37, and Laquita, became upset when the 17-year-old was arrested. According to Bloomington police, "Attempts were made to explain to her the reason why, but both adults continued to be loud and disruptive." BONITA (CNS) - A 51-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured Thursday in a collision with a cement-mixer truck near Chula Vista Golf Course.The man was riding west on Sweetwater Road in Bonita shortly before 9:30 a.m. when the driver of the construction vehicle, heading the same direction, made a right turn and hit him at Briarwood Road, according to the California Highway Patrol and firefighting officials.Medics took the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego for treatment of major but non-life-threatening injuries, said Dan Genevicz, a fire captain with Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District.The accident forced a roughly 30-minute closure of the intersection, Genevicz said. 702

BALTIMORE, Md. - A picture is worth a thousand words. It's a cliche saying but it's true.Many times when you look at a picture, it takes you back to that exact moment in time. That's what a local artist focuses on doing for people to capture their memories.Shawn Parsons has been painting his entire life and sells his work but sometimes he gives away a piece of his artwork.Over the winter, he painted a picture of a pet after his coworker's dog died."The overwhelming joy was so huge for me when I left there I thought maybe there’s something about painting someone else’s memories," said Parsons. "It was such a cool feeling for me to give something to someone where the emotion was so high I continued to do it."So he painted a few more and gave them away.This pandemic put a different twist on things for Parsons. His friend, Erin Millon, asked if he would paint a picture for her son's birthday. It was just another project that turned into a movement.Parsons painted a picture for her son, McCabe, of him playing lacrosse. McCabe made the varsity lacrosse team at McDonogh High School as a freshman but his season was canceled."We were able to play two games and then everything shut down," said McCabe. "It hurt a lot, still does. One of the worst parts about it was seeing how much the seniors lost and knowing how much they care and how much they’ve been working all fall, all winter."McCabe was blown away by Parsons' painting, he wanted others to feel what he did.
