(KGTV) -- Two people died early Sunday morning after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another vehicle shortly after a pursuit.The incident began when Valley Center Sheriff’s Deputies located a Honda Accord reported stolen out of Escondido.Deputies began pursuing the vehicle but, due to weather conditions and speed, decided to end the pursuit.RELATED: CHP investigates scene of fatal wrong-way crash on I-5 off-rampAuthorities continued to track the suspect using areal support. UPDATE 8:54 p.m. - Nov. 9, 2019SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Police Department has called off Saturday's Amber Alert after determining that the man who reported his vehicle stolen with a child inside filed a false report.The man told officers that his acquaintance, 29-year-old Osman Rahimi, drove off in his vehicle with an 11-year-old inside, according to SDPD Lt. Shawn Takeuchi.The man described the boy, named Johnny Diaz, as a Hispanic child, 4 feet tall, wearing a white shirt and “Transformers” pajama pants."Detectives contacted the California Highway Patrol to put out an Amber Alert in an effort to find the boy," said Takeuchi.Oceanside Police Department officers located the vehicle and Rahimi near the Aliso Creek Rest Area but the child was not with Rahimi."SDPD officers took custody of Rahimi and transported him to SDPD headquarters along with the man who made the report, and the Amber Alert was cancelled," said Takeuchi.Takeuchi said they conducted numerous interviews and determined that no child was involved. Detectives are still working to determine if Rahimi is responsible for stealing the car.The man who made the report, who has not yet been identified, may also face charged of filing a false report, according to Takeuchi."While it appears the original report was false, the mission of our department is to protect all life," said Takeuchi. "We appreciate the efforts of our community to find the child and are grateful for the support from our law enforcement partners."---------------------UPDATE 5:45 P.M. -- Nov. 9, 2019SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Detectives are working quickly to find clues in the alleged abduction of an 11-year-old boy who was snatched outside of a San Diego gas station that prompted a countywide Amber Alert on Saturday.San Diego Police Department detectives said the boy, Johnny Diaz, was abducted sometime around 11 a.m. outside the Valero gas station at Euclid and Geneva avenues, just south of the Martin Luther King Jr. Hwy 94 ramps in Southeast San Diego.Specific details about the incident were not immediately known at this time. NEWS HEADLINES: Missing Virginia teen safely located, alleged abductor apprehendedAn Amber Alert was issued Saturday afternoon with a description of a dark-colored 2006 Honda Pilot with California license plate number 5TLG117. UPDATE: Suspect Brandon Alexander is in custody, and the Xavier Alexander and his mother are safe, Upland police say. They were found in Claremont, California, just west of Upland.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 15-month-old child is missing, and police are looking for the child's father in connection with the abduction.The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert Saturday night for a 2017 grey Jeep Renegade, California license plate 8DQT883.Authorities believe 31-year-old Brandon Alexander, may have kidnapped his son, 15-month-old Xavier Alexander. The pair were last seen at 5:45 a.m. Saturday in Upland, California, which is in San Bernardino County. Brandon Alexander is considered to be armed and dangerous.Brandon Alexander may have also taken the child's mother, according to Upland Police. Police say she is a white female in her early thirties. She has a restraining order against him, police said.Brandon Alexander is described as 5' 10" and 240 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Xavier Alexander is 2' 6" and weighs 30 pounds, also with brown hair and blue eyes. The Amber Alert was issued in Kern, Inyo, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, Imperial and San Diego counties.Anybody who sees the vehicle or Brandon and Xavier Alexander are asked to call 9-1-1.10News is monitoring this breaking situation. 1369

Between Nov. 29 and Dec. 5 alone, more than 900,000 Americans selected a public health care plan.To sign up for a plan through to the Affordable Care Act, visit HealthCare.gov and click "take the first steps to apply." Two teens in Florida tried to steal a car at a sports complex as a team of Clearwater police officers played softball, according to the Clearwater Police Department."They had no idea that basically the entire team out there was comprised of Clearwater police officers," said Sgt. Thomas Dawe.The incident happened on Monday evening at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater.The group of police officers was playing their second softball game of the evening. They were the only group playing softball and noticed the two teens walking around."Normally, there are not many fans due to COVID...They kind of seemed out of place. They weren't watching the game. They were just kind of lingering around so most of us took note of their behavior to start," said Sgt. Dawe.Clearwater Police said a 16-year-old girl stole a set of keys belonging to an umpire. The keys were placed on a table. The two teens took off running out of the sports complex.When the scorekeeper realized what happened, she yelled at the umpire who was out in the field.Sgt. Thomas Dawe, Cpl. Jarred Stiff and Officer Matthew Richmond chased after the two teens."It's just unfortunate that kids were trying to do what they did in order to get down to south St. Pete. There are other opportunities, other avenues to get places rather than taking those steps to commit a crime," said Cpl. Jarred Stiff.The police officers called for backup since they did not have handcuffs on them.The two suspects were charged with attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle. Both have been in trouble with the law before."Unfortunately, we were not able to win the game, but at least we were able to catch a couple of kids doing a bad thing," said Cpl.
