Police said four people were injured Wednesday in two separate knife attacks about 30 minutes apart in central Vienna, Austria.Three victims were injured in the first attack outside a restaurant near the Nestroyplatz subway station, a police spokesman told CNN. Police surrounded a Panera Bread near the Princeton University camps after a gunman was reported to be inside. According to New Jersey Attorney General's office, police shot the gunman dead. According to the Princeton University alert page, two campus buildings near the restaurant were evacuated as a precaution. Classes are currently not in session, as Princeton is on its spring break.The standoff continued from the lunch hour into the late afternoon. The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of family members. People in Boston came together Sunday to run a course that spelled out the city's name, five years after deadly bomb blasts went off during the Boston Marathon.The city's triathlon team, Zoom Multisport, began what they call the #BostonRun two weeks after the 2013 bombings, said Greg Soutiea, one of the organizers. Several members of the club were stopped short of finishing the race or, for the ones who did finish, they were still downtown when the bombs exploded."A lot of people on our team needed closure," Soutiea said. Police in Bismarck, North Dakota, want to put AR-15 rifles in some schools so school resource officers can respond more quickly in the event of an active shooter.Police asked for almost ,000 in their 2019 budget request to buy the rifles, heavy body armor and bleeding control kits for the city's nine high schools and middle schools, Bismarck Police Chief Dave Draovitch told CNN.The money will also be used to buy a safe at each school to keep the equipment away from students, teachers and staff."The SROs (school resource officers) will be the only ones who have access to this equipment," he said.The cost would be split with the school system."Hopefully we never find ourselves in a situation of an active shooter. But if we do, we really want to make sure that our SRO's are equipped with the tools that they need to do their job effectively," Bismarck Public Schools safety coordinator Becky LaBella told CNN affiliate KFYR.Draovitch said Bismarck school resource officers are police officers and are trained to respond immediately to stop an active shooting."Whatever they have to do to stop that threat, that's what we expect our officers to do," Draovitch said.They keep AR-15s and the other emergency equipment in their vehicles, but that's not as useful if there's an active shooting situation inside the building."If something happens they're not going to have time to go running out to their cars," Draovitch said.
