OTAY MESA (CNS) - Authorities Tuesday released the names of a 70-year- old man and the two San Diego police officers who shot him in Otay Valley Regional Park in Otay Mesa when he allegedly pulled out a handgun that turned out to be a replica.Around 6 a.m. Thursday, Officers Jeremy Huff and Filip Perry from the Neighborhood Policing Division were in the park, near the 500 block of Beyer Way, to conduct an outreach and cleanup operation in conjunction with other city agencies when they encountered Carlos Soto, who was staying in an illegal encampment, according to Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police Department."When officers approached the man, he produced a handgun," Brown said. "Officers gave the man commands to get on the ground. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) — A body was discovered in a small North County lake while vector control workers sprayed for bugs Thursday.A helicopter pilot was dropping larvicide over the area behind the Vons shopping center at State Route 76 and Frazee Road about 1 p.m. and spotted the body floating on the surface, according to police.The lagoon was inaccessible by foot, said police. Officers deployed a drone to confirm there was a body on the scene.Oceanside Fire Department Lifeguards were called to retrieve the person's remains. Investigators believe he or she may have been in the water for at least two weeks.Oceanside Police responded to the scene and investigated the discovery. The incident is the second discovery of a body in Oceanside Thursday. (KGTV) - Trains passing through southern Orange County were delayed Monday night causing headaches for thousands of travelers.According to Amtrak, a train became stalled on the track between Oceanside and San Clemente “due to mechanical issues.”The Metrolink Twitter account said train 609 that was disabled.The Pacific Surfliner Twitter account said train 583 was also having mechanical issues. The delays resulted in the cancellation of train 590.Metrolink wrote on Twitter that they canceled OC Line 603 to LA Union Station Tuesday morning because of the issues with train 609.Metrolink offered busses from Laguna Niguel down to Oceanside, but one traveler who was stranded at the San Juan Capistrano station told 10News that Amtrak did not offer any busses to complete the trip. One of the children allegedly held captive by her parents in a California home posted video and photos on secret social media accounts, according to ABC News.ABC News obtained video from a YouTube account that offers short glimpses inside the Turpin family home in Perris. The YouTube account belongs to the 17-year-old Turpin daughter who escaped the house and notified authorities.The girl used an alias on the account, ABC News reported.The YouTube account includes clips of the teen singing songs she says she wrote herself and playing with one of the family's two dogs. One of the girl's video clips includes a look at a room with clothes scattered everywhere.The most recent clip on the account was posted about a week before she escaped from the home.ABC News also reported the teen had an Instagram page -- also using an alias -- that featured selfies, photos of animals and images of singer Justin Bieber.  933

NOVI, Michigan — A Michigan teenager is being held on million bond after he allegedly made a threat on social app Snapchat to shoot up South Lyon High School.Ryan Robert Debruyne, from Green Oak Township, was arraigned on a charge of making a false report or threat of terrorism.WHMI reports Debryne turns 18 years old today, Feb. 21, 2018.His booking photo on the Oakland County Jail's website shows him being booked in jail on Tuesday and held on million bond.According to police, Debruyne sent a Snapchat to another student, asking if he wanted to join him in shooting up the school similar to the one in Florida last week.The school tells us the student informed local authorities of the threat, and police were able to take him into custody.WHMI reports that a probable cause conference is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 28. 864
