ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Sarah Palin's husband, commonly referred to as "Alaska's first dude" when she was governor, appears to be seeking a divorce from his wife of 31 years.Paperwork believed to be from Todd Palin cited "incompatibility of temperament" in seeking to end his marriage to the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.The filing Friday in Anchorage Superior Court only identified the couple by initials. The initials, birthdates and wedding date match the Palins, as does the initials given for their only young child living at home.The documents list the minor as T.P.V.P., born April 18, 2008, the same date Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig Paxon Van Palin, the youngest of the couple's five children.The Palins married in 1988. After Sarah Palin became governor in 2006, Todd Palin continued to fish commercially and work an oil field job on the North Slope. Their lives were ever changed after Republican presidential candidate John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate.During her speech to the Republican National Convention, Palin talked about her long relationship with her husband."We met in high school, and two decades and five children later, he's still my guy," she said at the time.In the divorce filing believed to be from Todd Palin, he seeks joint custody of the child. An Arizona Coyotes hockey player was arrested in Scottsdale. Scottsdale police said 27-year-old Richard Panik was arrested for trespassing. The hockey player reportedly refused to leave the entrance of a local restaurant on April 8 at 8:50 p.m. According to police, Panik appeared to be intoxicated during his contact with officers. Panik was booked into Scottsdale City Jail for criminal trespass and later released with a criminal citation. The 27-year-old played 37 games during the 2017-2018 season with the Chicago Blackhawks before being traded to the Arizona Coyotes. He played 35 games with Arizona. The Arizona Coyotes released the following statement to Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix:“We are aware of the incident and are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation.  We will have no further comment at the present time.”   914

An Ohio company that makes bulletproof backpack shields is experiencing an increase in demand for its product due to concerns over school shootings."We've had, I would say, a 100 to 200 percent increase certainly in response," said Matt White, the director of marketing for ShotStop Ballistics, based in Stow.The backpack inserts are one-quarter inch thick and weigh about a pound. As Major League Baseball threw out the first pitch Thursday night, MLB announced that the player’s association and league have agreed to a 16-team playoff for this season only. This expands it from the normal 10 teams. The decision makes it possible, if not likely, that teams with losing records will reach the postseason.
