(KGTV) — A 5.5-magnitude earthquake was reported near the Ridgecrest area late Wednesday.The quake occurred at about 6:30 p.m. in the Searles Valley area, about 14 miles outside of Ridgecrest, Calif., according to the USGS. Several smaller earthquakes measuring between 2.6 and 2.9 magnitude in the nearby Trona, Calif., area were recorded after the initial shakeup. A 4.2 magnitude aftershock was also felt in the area around 8 p.m. Wednesday night. Cal Fire reported about 8:30 p.m. the fire had spread to 3,950 acres. Several structures were lost. (KGTV) — California is now allowing breweries, bars, wineries, and distilleries to sell drinks to-go if they partner with a meal provider to provide food as well.The state's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) announced the change Friday, allowing locations that do not have their own kitchen to reopen for business in some fashion.The change comes after several requests to expand to-go sales to breweries, bars, wineries, and distilleries that do not have kitchens, according to ABC.
