DENVER, Colo. – Aches, pains and stress are just a way of life as we get older, but there’s a new trend that claims to reduce all of those issues. It’s called light therapy.Fitness instructor Christa Dellebovi is among those using the therapy. “I teach seven to eight classes a week here at Rise Nation and I do my own workouts as well I lift weights 3 or 4 times a week,” said Dellebovi. "I feel it a lot of times at night. I lay down after the day and everything just tightens up, tenses up and after sitting at a desk for a while, I start to feel it in my hips and my joints just get tight."It wasn't until Dellebovi was introduced to light therapy that she started noticing a difference.It can be in the form of a face mask, a sauna or just a room filled with a certain colored light that's said to penetrate deep into the skin."Recently it has become popular with celebrities and the public in general in regard to inferred saunas, the idea being that it can help with inflammation,” said said Dr. Zeina Dajani. "Although, some studies have found the opposite."Dr. Dajani says light therapy comes with claims of reducing stress and pain while improving sleep.It’s become so popular, the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas opened the Blu Room using UV-B light, but Dr. Dajani says there are people who shouldn't use light therapy – those with autoimmune disorders."So, in that case, red and blue light may be harmful, but for the general public, they are safe."This new trend isn't cheap. DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - All it takes is a swipe, and the information from your credit card’s magnetic stripe could be on its way to the "dark net." Thieves plant skimming devices at gas stations and ATMs to steal your card info, but according to Delray Beach Police Detective Kimberly Mead, that is only half the battle scammers face.Next, they need to find a card with a magnetic stripe to hold the information."Anything that has a magnetic stripe on the back can be turned into a credit card,” Mead told WPTV. “Hotel keys, gift cards, gas station cards, anything that has a magnetic stripe."This includes lost, stolen and seemingly useless cards thrown away in the trash.“They are just going to be a piece of plastic to someone, but if [scammers] have a credit card number, which they obtained through the internet or from a skimming device, they can input that information onto the magnetic stripe [using a card reader],” Mead said. “Now that card is useful to them again.”Recently, Mead busted a Florida man for reprogramming credit cards with stolen information. “We see this quite frequently,” Mead said.In her most recent case, Mead says she was tipped off when the credit card number on the receipt didn't match the numbers written on the front of the card.Then, using the same type of card reader thieves use to re-encode magnetic stripes, Mead checked the internal data on the man’s credit cards. “When we swiped the magnetic stripe, the number that showed up on the screen did not match the number that was embossed on the front [of the cards],” she said.So what can you do? “This kind of activity goes hand-in-hand with skimming,” the Florida detective said. “Pay attention to the ATMs you’re using, the gas pumps you’re using.”Actively monitor your charges through online and mobile banking apps, and think twice before tossing any card with a magnetic stripe.“Cut it up or shred it,” Mead said. “Don’t just toss it in the trash.”Anyone can purchase a credit card reader. Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump has requested the release of body camera footage recorded by two mounted Galveston police officers who led a handcuffed black man down the city's streets.The police department has 30 days to comply, or face a civil rights march through the city, Crump said at a press conference Monday.Two Galveston police arrested Donald Neely earlier this month. Photos show them on horseback, leading the 43-year-old by what appeared to be a rope. Neely was on foot.Police said the officer was holding a "line" that was clipped to the man's handcuffs, not a rope. But the photo evoked images of slave hunters dragging captured slaves, Crump said, and "everybody who you talk to in communities of color were heartbroken."The police department apologized last week, and Police Chief Vernon L Hale III said it caused Neely "unnecessary embarrassment," and that the officers showed "poor judgment.""Until you release that video from that body cam, we are not going anywhere," Crump said. "We're going to stay here and stand with Donald Neely and his family."If the video isn't released in 30 days, other civil, human and mental health advocates will join them to "have a great march on Galveston, and we're going to march down the same streets that you dragged Donald Neely down by rope," Crump said.Police said Neely was charged with criminal trespass. Officers had warned him on previous occasions to stay away from a location in the downtown visitor district where he was arrested, police spokesman Sgt. Xavier Hancock said last week.Neely family attorney Melissa Morris said last week that Neely suffers from bipolar disorder and is not taking medication to treat it. He had been homeless for about seven years, she said. Crump said police knew Neely suffered from a mental illness.Neely spent 20 hours in jail, Morris told CNN. Morris said Neely's family was looking for him when the photo went viral."The way they drug my brother down the street just really tore my heart," Neely's sister, Taranette Neely, said at Monday's press conference. "I mean, I was just in shock. And I'm still in shock. I can't believe that they would do this to my brother. The sweetest person on this earth."Speaking to CNN's Don Lemon Monday night, Taranette Neely said her brother is loving and was always there for the family."He's sweet as gold. He'll give you his last," she said of her brother. DEER PARK, Texas — A massive chemical fire that filled the sky with smoke and flames for days in southeast Texas has finally been snuffed out. But its effects could still be dangerous.The city of Deer Park announced a shelter-in-place order Thursday morning due to concerns about "levels of benzene or other volatile organic compounds within city limits."At least six area school districts have canceled classes Thursday, a day after the flames were extinguished.The Intercontinental Terminals Company said increased levels of benzene were detected early Thursday."These levels are below those that represent an immediate risk," ITC said."We have notified the surrounding municipalities, and out of an abundance of caution, Deer Park Emergency Operations Center has called for shelter in place precautions immediately for all of Deer Park."The neighboring city of Galena Park also issued a shelter-in-place order due to the elevated benzene levels, according to an alert on the city's official website.
