BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A man is under arrest after police say several pipe bombs were found near a Florida strip mall Wednesday night.Gregory Haasze, 34, has been arrested on 26 counts of making, possessing, throwing, projecting, placing, or discharging a destructive device.Police said the bombs were found in the area of Congress Avenue and Old Boynton Road in Boynton Beach following reports of a loud noise in the area on Wednesday.Officers temporarily shut down nearby roads and businesses as they investigated the suspected pipe bombs. They also evacuated apartments, homes and stores in the area out of an abundance of caution.The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.A resident told WPTV she had to wait for more than an hour to get home."Since the Fourth of July, there have been really loud noises in the neighborhood," the neighbor said. "The only thing that could make that kind of sound is a bomb. I've never heard anything that loud before. When you're outside it hurts your ears it's so loud."Police said residents were eventually able to get back in their homes by 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. 1181

Breonna Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, requested a new special prosecutor to review her daughter's case. During a meeting Friday, the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council voted not to approve her request.Tamika Palmer and her attorneys argue Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron did not accurately explain the law to the grand jurors, present evidence correctly, and perform the job bias-free.Which leads to their request of having a new prosecutor appointed to Breonna Taylor's case.While the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council can replace a local prosecutor with the attorney general, the council noted they do not have the legal authority to replace the attorney general."No basis in case law or statute exists for the prosecutor advisory council to appoint a new, independent prosecutor as requested by Ms. Palmer," Chris Cohron, the Commonwealth's Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit in Bowling Green.The council voted unanimously. As soon as the council made its decision, the people watching the virtual meeting spoke out, with one person saying, "You're wrong, and you know it."That's the end of the legal road for Breonna Taylor's family regarding state or criminal penalties. Bicycle injury accidents have ticked up in the city of San Diego this year, as the city has seen thousands of dockless bikes appear across its neighborhoods since January.New city data shows that there were 130 injury accidents involving bicyclists through May 1, 2018, up from 102 in the same period of 2017.A San Diego Police spokesman said it would take more research to determine whether the uptick is related to dockless bikes. However, the data shows that some parts of the city are seeing fewer incidents, while others are seeing more. Hillcrest, for instance, has seen improvement. By May 1, 2017, there were already seven injury accidents in the heart of the neighborhood. This year there have not been any.However, there has been an increase on Mission Boulevard along the coast, which has no bike lane and can get narrow. In 2017, there was just one injury accident on the boulevard. Through May 1, that number was up to six. Claire Mathena, who lives in Hillcrest, said she can't afford a car but the dockless bikes help her get around."Everyone's in a hurry, I just don't think people are paying attention. I just don't think it has anything to do with the dockless bikes," she said. Meanwhile, others, like Stephan Vance, choose to commute daily by bike.
