SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - New restrictions going into effect Sunday night limit restaurants, wineries and breweries to take out only, making them brace for the next three weeks.The new stay-at-home orders mandated by Governor Gavin Newsom were triggered due to the rapidly increasing number of hospitalizations from the coronavirus.Mike Hess, Chief Brewing Officer at Mike Hess Brewing, estimated this will be the fifth time his breweries have to shut down across San Diego."I've kinda lost track of the dates and times, I know we're just doing what we need to do to keep going," he said.Each time, he's reinvented the business, making hand sanitizer, selling canned beer to go and adding COVID-19 safety measures in order to reopen."This is tough, it's very hard on a business. It's very hard to manage a business that is reliant on a certain amount of cash flow and business operations," Hess said.Starting Monday they'll shut down again. This time he's transforming some of their outdoor seating at their Imperial Beach location into a drive through lane."People can cruise right in to that orange cone barricade, go right around Elm, right back up Ocean and pick up their tacos and beer right out of the back door which is right where the food comes out of the kitchen anyway so it's going to be piping hot," he said.Hess added the North Park location will also have a drive through option. He hopes they see enough take out customers in the next three weeks, the length the new orders last, to avoid any furloughs this holiday season."We have 80 families that work for Mike Hess Brewing and they're relying on us for a paycheck so the shut down is having a big effect," he said.Hess is frustrated the new restrictions target the restaurant industry when retail is allowed to open in a limited capacity.He is still holding a "Joy Drive" for the Jesse Rees Foundation, donating 25% of gift card sales through December 21st. 1927

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Officials with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation say Donovan State Prison officials confiscated a cell phone Tuesday from an inmate who was allegedly using the phone to harass and threaten a woman in New York.According to Christina Neal, 37-year-old Brandon Baker, a prisoner serving 75 years to life at Donovan in South San Diego County, contacted her nearly two weeks ago.“I started getting messages from someone named Brandon Baker, but I had never heard of him before,” Neal said. Neal says Baker found her on Facebook through mutual friends and family members and then began sending her inappropriate messages through Facebook messenger.“He put ‘ma, what’s up, you looking really good. I’d like to get to know you,’” Neal said. “and he was like, ‘you're really sexy.’ And I didn't respond. So then a couple of days later, I got another message from him, and he's talking about my daughter.” “So I was just like ‘I don't know who you are. I don't know how you got pictures of me and my daughter, but please leave me alone, I'm married, and I don't want to have anything to do with you,’” Neal added.Neal says the tone of the messages escalated and Baker told her he would be getting out next month.“He said he was gonna come to my house and said he was gonna rape me,” she said. “I’m very nervous, just because hearing what (he) did, (he) doesn’t seem like (he’s) that nice of a person.”CDCR says they are investigating the case, and Baker could face more punishment depending on what they find on the phone they seized.They released the following statement:“Contraband cellphones are often used to in criminal and illicit activities, conduct drug trafficking, enable gang communication, and harass and intimidate victims and witnesses. Their presence affects safety and security in state prisons and California’s communities. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation uses a multi-layered approach to detect and find contraband cellphones. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two people were stabbed in the San Diego River Tuesday night. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 500 block of Morena Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. between Old Town and Linda Vista.After the stabbing, the suspect, only described as a man wearing a white shirt, fled the scene. Despite a police helicopter and officers on foot, the suspect managed to escape.Lt. Mike Ramsay said the two victims were hispanic men, ages 18 and 19. One was stabbed in the chest and the other in the stomach. They were taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest. Ramsay described their condition as "serious but stable."Police closed off Morena Boulevard near Interstate 8 as they searched for the suspect, creating heavy traffic in the area. 10News will continue to keep you updated as soon as we receive more information. 882

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are investigating a shooting in the Chollas Creek area Friday that left a man with multiple gunshot wounds.San Diego Police say a 22-year-old Hispanic male was walking in the 5300 block of Lea St. when he was approached by a Hispanic male suspect sometime before 7 p.m. Friday. A brief conversation began between the two, before the suspect pulled out a handgun and fire four times at the man, police say.The man was hit three times by gunfire. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.The suspect fled the scene in a red sedan, heading eastbound on Lea St. He is described as being 5-foot 8-inches tall with thin build. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man in City Heights Wednesday afternoon.According to San Diego Police, the man was shot in the back at the intersection of Fairmont Avenue and Thorn Street near Clark Middle School and Manzanita Canyon.The shooter left the area with two other men, according to San Diego Police officer Billy Hernandez. The three were described as Asian men, one in a white shirt with the letters "SD" on it in red printing, the others in black shirts, Hernandez said.Police shut down traffic near the shooting scene and searched the area with a helicopter and ground crews. Officers found a gun possibly connected to the case in an alley. There was no sign of the shooter.Paramedics took the shooting victim to the hospital.
