A Michigan couple that was married for 47 years both died from COVID-19 just a minute apart from each other.Patricia and Leslie McWaters were both born in Jackson, Michigan, and married on April 16, 1973. A standoff between police and an armed suspect that resulted in one officer's death and the wounding of another remains underway Saturday afternoon in Pomona, California, near Los Angeles, more than 15 hours after it began.The suspect is barricaded inside an apartment home after fatally shooting an officer and wounding a second one, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department."It is with a heavy heart that I must report that one officer did not survive," Pomona police Chief Michael Olivieri tweeted early Saturday morning. A van covered in conservative political bumper stickers parked nearby where a suspect was arrested in connection with a series of package bombs sent to liberal politicians and donors was taken into police custody Friday.The van was plastered with large stickers in support of President Trump. It also included a sticker of Hillary Clinton in a sniper's crosshairs and a "CNN Sucks!" sticker.Police covered the van in a tarp and drove it to a nearby facility.It's unclear if the van belongs to Cesar Sayoc, the man arrested in connection with the package bombs, though it was located in a parking lot of the same auto parts store in which Sayoc was arrested.At least 12 package bombs were sent to liberal politicians and donors this week. A Southwest Airlines plane flying from Fort Lauderdale to BWI was hit by a pickup truck after landing at the airport. It happened early Monday morning. Passengers said the white truck crashed into the side of the plane on the runway. An ambulance was at the scene, but according to passengers, no one was injured. Passengers were not allowed to leave while crews continued their investigation. Southwest Airlines has not released any comment but the company did respond to a tweet from one of the passengers on the plane. A passenger named Michael Simon posted this tweet: "So our southwest flight just got into an accident with a pickup truck. Guess that makes me an airplane crash survivor." 874
