Deputies arrested a Polk City, Florida woman for DUI on a horse in Lakeland on Thursday. Donna Byrne, 53, was riding the horse in the roadway when deputies arrived on scene. Deputies said Byrne smelled like alcohol, had watery bloodshot eyes and was staggering. A field sobriety test was conducted and she was arrested for DUI. Byrne was also charged with animal neglect for failing to provide proper protection to the horse. According to the affidavit, Byrne put the horse in jeopardy of being injured or killed.Byrne blew a .157 and .161 BAC. A breath alcohol level of .08 is the legal limit in Florida. 633

Staff at the zoo said Cerah was recently introduced to Berani and her half-sister, Hesty.While Hesty has been affectionate and eager to be around Cerah, Berani has been gentle but reserved and mostly kept his distance, which staff say is normal for male orangutans.Sumatran orangutans are considered critically endangered with an estimated worldwide population of just 14,600. 628

DENVER -- In an exclusive interview with Scripps station KMGH in Denver, a veteran Denver police detective has accused Mayor Michael Hancock of sexually harassing her when she worked on Hancock’s security detail in 2011 and 2012. Denver police detective Leslie Branch-Wise says Hancock made inappropriate comments and sent her harassing text messages in 2012, which she provided to KMGH. Deputies arrested a Palm Beach County bookkeeper Saturday on accusations of stealing money from her employer to pay for a new vehicle.Erma Rios, 26, of suburban West Palm Beach, wrote and signed company checks to purchase a Land Rover from a dealership, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report.Rios’ boss reported more than ,000 missing from the bank account of his Palm Beach Gardens business in January 2017.Bank records show Rios, a bookkeeper at the business, allegedly wrote out two checks to a used car dealership in December 2016.The first check written out by Rios was a ,000 down payment addressed to the used car dealership for a 2011 Land Rover, an arrest report states. The second check was written out a few weeks later as a final payment to the car dealership for ,000.Deputies interviewing a car salesman report him saying he sold the vehicle to Rios. He said she wrote and signed the checks, and then presented them to his as payment, he said in the report.Court records show a warrant for Rios arrest was signed in April 2017.One year later, she was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
