This week, Florida saw its biggest one-day jump in cases: more than 2,800.“A convention is a super spreader event and the possibilities, if you're a gambling person, the possibilities, the odds will be in your favor that you could possibly be exposed,” said Dr. Doreen Perez, with the University of North Florida’s Brooks College of Health.She said, without precautions, conventions of any kind can potentially spread the coronavirus to many people, who could end up taking it home to their communities.“Especially when they're coming from different all points of the nation,” Dr. Perez said.Her advice for attendees: social distance, wash your hands and wear a mask.“It's been proven that it works,” she said.Back at Super Food and Brew, there is little fear and a lot of hope.“I think the economic benefit of the RNC coming here will outweigh anything,” Penttila said.It is something the city will know one way or another by the last week of August. Bush," Sheer said.But it was his time with George H.W. Bush, who died Friday night at his home in Texas, that he thought about most this weekend."He was constantly moving, and when he would move, he would move fast," Sheer said. "If you were working right ahead of him in the perimeter around him and you were right ahead of him, you'd have to be careful if you slowed down because he'd run you right over."Sheer said that same energy went into his golf game. "They say he played golf almost like you play hockey," Sheer said. "He'd hit the ball and the ball's almost done moving and he's just constantly moving."Sheer said the moment he'd never forget was the day Ronald Reagan was released from the hospital after he'd been shot. It was built in 2013 in the yard of the Wellington family's Jamul yard for the Animal Planet television show "Treehouse Masters." The Wellington's daughter had heard of the show and suggested her parents apply. Each year, FORBS chooses around a dozen San Diego families who are down on their luck and provide Christmas presents, each delivered on Christmas day by a Santa. The Wellington's and their daughter, Vikki, came up with the idea of using the treehouse as a fundraiser. One weekend each December, they open up the treehouse for family pictures. The fee includes professional photographs, a real bearded Santa, cookies, hot cocoa, and craft activities. KENOSHA, Wisc. — If police spotted the teen reportedly carrying a rifle in Kenosha Tuesday night, they could have stopped him to find out if he was committing a crime before he allegedly killed two protesters and injured a third.Images of people openly carrying guns during protests in Milwaukee and Kenosha this summer may make some people feel uneasy. But they are not breaking the law.Wisconsin is an open carry state, meaning anyone who gets a gun legally can carry it in most public places without a license or permit.But that's not the case for minors like 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who is accused of shooting three protesters in Kenosha Tuesday night, killing two of them.Kenosha Police Chief Daniel Miskinis confirmed to reporters Wednesday that you have to be 18 to open carry in the state of Wisconsin.And according to a 2009 memo from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, police can stop someone openly carrying a gun to determine if a crime is being committed.The DOJ says officers can stop someone if they have "reasonable suspicion" of criminal activity, adding Wisconsin's open carry law, "...is not a shield against police investigation or subsequent prosecution."In this case, police could have asked Rittenhouse how old he was and stopped him before he allegedly pulled the trigger.There are some exceptions in Wisconsin state law allowing minors to carry guns, including if they are in the military and in the line of duty, as well as if they are under adult supervision and using it for target practice or instruction.
