A potential tropical cyclone is looking to wreak havoc on Central America in the next few days.Known as "Potential Tropical Cyclone 14" by the National Hurricane Center, the storm is expected to form in the northwestern Caribbean Sea on Sunday, with heavy rains heading for western Cuba.The system is expected to become a tropical depression late Saturday or Sunday and become a tropical storm by Sunday night, the center said. On the current forecast track, the center said the system is expected to move across the Yucatan Channel near the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula through Sunday night, and then move into the southern Gulf of Mexico on Monday.There is a tropical storm watch for the coast of Mexico from Tulum to Cabo Catoche, where tropical storm conditions are possible Sunday and Monday. There is also a tropical storm warning for the Cuban provinces of Pinar del Rio and the Isle of Youth.Currently, the storm is moving north at 7 mph. It is 120 miles south of Cozumel, Mexico, and is 240 miles south-southwest of the western tip of Cuba, according to the hurricane center's 11 p.m. ET update Saturday.The storm may also produce 3 to 7 inches of rain in western Cuba and 2 to 4 inches over the Yucatan Peninsula, Belize and northern Honduras through Tuesday. A Pennsylvania couple is facing criminal charges after police say they hid the body of their infant daughter in a plastic container filled with cat litter in a crawlspace inside their home, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.Samantha Trump, 27, and Shaun Oxenreider, 25, are charged with abuse of a corpse, concealing the whereabouts of a child and criminal conspiracy, according to a criminal complaint.Spring Township police began an investigation when two relatives of Oxenreider contacted them, reporting that they’d heard about the death of the 6-month old baby, the criminal complaint says.Officials are still trying to determine how and when the child died. An autopsy has been scheduled.Police say a relative of Oxenreider told them he’d heard several stories about what happened to the baby and who paid for the funeral expenses from Oxenreider, according to the criminal complaint.Police spoke to a Berks County Children and Youth Services caseworker to follow up with the report, the criminal complaint says. The caseworker spoke to Oxenreider and Trump on the phone, then told police their statements were suspicious. The caseworker also told police she could find no record of the baby’s name with either Trump or Oxenreider as a last name at any Berks-area hospital, or at the funeral home where the couple said they had the baby’s remains cremated.When asked to provide a death certificate for the child, Trump told the caseworker that she and Oxenreider were in New Jersey visiting a relative, and would not be back until after Easter, according to the criminal complaint.On Monday night, the criminal complaint says, a relative drove past the couple’s home on the 1300 block of West Wyomissing Court and saw Oxenreider’s vehicle parked outside. The relative contacted police, who went to the home to investigate.The couple initially did not allow police inside, the criminal complaint says. Officers spoke to Trump through the door while Oxenreider attended to the couple’s other child.As the investigating officer and child protective services officials arrived on the scene, Oxenreider left the home, and Trump remained at the door, the criminal complaint says. Trump then dropped to the ground and went into convulsions during questioning by investigators. She was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment, according to the criminal complaint.Police continued to speak to Oxenreider. Shortly after midnight, they asked his permission to search the home, the criminal complaint says. Officers made it clear that they wanted to look in spaces that could potentially conceal a child.Oxenreider agreed to the search.Police eventually searched a locked bathroom, that Oxenreider opened with a key. Inside they discovered used diapers, pictures of the baby, and baby clothing. A door inside the bathroom leading to a crawl space was also found. When police looked inside, they found a large plastic container with the lid snapped shut, the criminal complaint says. The container was filled with cat litter.Officers noticed a plastic trash bag sticking out of the litter. When the bag was pulled out and cut open, the criminal complaint says, police discovered the child’s body inside.Oxenreider was arrested without incident, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office. The campaign has said masks, hand sanitizer and temperature checks will be provided for attendees.Dave Plyler, the Republican chairman of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, told local media he believes Trump should wear a mask while visiting."It's been ordered by the governor," Plyler said of the state's face-covering mandate. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in North Carolina, do as the governor says."Trump took the stage Tuesday evening without a mask on. While some in attendance, especially those seated directly behind Trump, wore masks, the majority did not, according to photos submitted by the Associated Press.North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s mask mandate is still in effect. Cooper is a democrat."He (Trump) is a citizen of the United States, but he is also a guest in our county," Plyler told the Winston-Salem Journal. A Muslim woman arrested during protests in Miami has allegedly been forced to remove her religious head cover at a correctional center and her mugshot has been taken without it, according to her lawyer, in an incident that has focused attention on questions about religious rights while in custody. Alaa Massri, 18, was one of several people arrested on June 10 following demonstrations near the statues of Christopher Columbus and Juan Ponce de Leon in Miami. Lawyer, Khurrum Wahid, says Massri’s hijab is part of a sincerely held religious belief that she has and that it was removed against her will. Massri claims officers forcibly removed her hijab after she didn't take it off for her booking photo. She says it was not returned to her for several hours. Not because of a winning horse show, but because of a winning chase behind a fleeing racehorse.One of the best racehorses from the 4H at Andover Farms broke free from her halter and galloped down Aviation Blvd during a 20-minute pursuit in Glen Burnie, Maryland.Sixteen-year-old Caroline Shoults was getting ready for her next class in the show when she heard the announcement regarding the runaway horse. Without hesitation, Shoults took a leap of bravery to chase her down."I live by this life quote, 'do for others as you would want to be done for you' and it has got me into quite the situation," said Shoults. "And I tried to control myself and just stay focused, I was about to walk in the rain, and I spun around and took off through the horses in the showground." Followed by two adults who immediately jumped into a vehicle to control oncoming traffic, Shoults aimed to steer the horse into a parking lot or off to the side of the road during the pursuit."I was not about to watch this horse right in front of me get hit by a car, injured, die, anything of the above."The horse finally tired out after a 3-mile run and stopped when Caroline was able to get a line around her.This young girl's bravery runs deeper than just doing the right thing. She too rescued her own racehorse 'Tinkerbell' from a Kill Pen and transformed her from a horse with little to no hope to a stellar all-around racehorse. "People are thanking me so much for what I did, but in the end, I couldn't have done it without Tink."After all the chaos and a gut-wrenching adventure, Shoults was able to finish strong and take on Tink's first competition completing a fantastic run finishing third out of 19 horses in that class. 1839
