KANSAS CITY, Kansas — A second company associated with Schlitterbahn has been named in a newly unsealed criminal indictment.Henry & Sons Construction is listed as a co-defendant in the murder case of 10 year old Caleb Schwab.The boy died on the Verruckt water slide in 2016.According to the indictment, Henry & Sons was the design and construction company for Verruckt.Reviews posted online by people who identify themselves as former employees raise safety concerns before the Schwab tragedy. On the job website Indeed.com, a person who identifies himself as a former welder for Henry & Sons submitted a February 2015 review for the company.The review claims management would ignore issues or "let them pass" like damaged work equipment.The welder also says managers wouldn't require a safety harness to work six feet off the ground and they "just wanted to get the job done no matter how risky it could be."Other review headlines include "Unsafe Working Environment", "Lack of Management Skills" and "Unorganized."At least one poster, however, gave the company five stars, calling it "an amazing place to work." The latest indictment states company owner Jeff Henry hired a man named John Hunsucker as a consultant for the operation and safety of Verruckt.But Hunsucker told investigators that while he could make suggestions, it was only Henry who made the decisions.The indictment further says Henry never asked Hunsucker to check if the water slide met industry safety standards, which the indictment claims in many ways it did not. 1587

(KGTV) - The Valley Fire claimed the home of a 78-year-old Jamul woman Saturday, along with many of her beloved animals.Cellphone video shot by Pat Menzies shows a thick wall of smoke over a ridge, as he drove his mother Eileen from her home, and away from the fast-moving flames of the Valley Fire on Saturday. Around 2 pm, Eileen says she had only minutes to pack a few things, grab her three dogs and get out of her home on Prairie Drive."We were afraid it was going to come fast, especially since there were no planes, helicopters and fire engines there," said Eileen.Eileen says brushfires have gotten within a half-mile of her home in the past, but this felt different."i just had a gut feeling this one was going to take me out," said Eileen.The fear turned into reality, as Eileen and her daughter discovered when they got back on the property the next day. Eileen's trailer home of 17 years was burned to the ground. All her family heirlooms and almost all her possessions were gone."I felt numb because there was nothing I could do. It's going to be tough to get back online," said Eileen.On the day she learned what happened to her home, the toughest part was her search for her animals, in various pens and cages. Her goat, duck, turkey and three of 12 peacocks, were all found dead."It was sad because they were trapped. The turkey, duck and goats were my babies, and they're not with me anymore," said Eileen.That sadness hanging over Eileen as she begins her road to recovery. She knows it will be a long one."Constantly running into new chapters in your life ... I'm 78 and starting over," said Eileen.Eileen's home was insured. KILLEEN, TX — A suspect in a Fort Hood Criminal Investigation Division (CID) case died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound just as officers attempted to make contact with him early Wednesday morning.The Army has since confirmed the incident is linked to the disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen.Officers with the Killeen Police Department with the assistance of U.S. Marshals located the suspect at around 1:30 a.m. local time.Officers, along with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals, located the suspect in the 4700 block of East Rancier Avenue — about 10 miles from Fort Hood. The Killeen Police Department says as officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he pulled out a gun and shot it towards himself. The suspect later died.The incident came hours after Army CID agents announced they had found human remains while searching for Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, a soldier who went missing from the base on April 22. Hanna first arrived in Ohio in 1965 to attend Muskingum University. Always the animal lover, he even brought his pet donkey with him to live in the fraternity house. (AP) — Searchers have found a hiker who has been missing in the mountains north of Los Angeles for a week.Authorities say 73-year-old Eugene Jo was found alive Saturday by one of 11 search-and-rescue crews that have been searching the San Gabriel Mountains for him.Sgt. Greg Taylor with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department says cellphone coverage is spotty in the mountains, so he has no immediate word on Jo's condition. He says Jo was being transported to a hospital to be examined.Jo was hiking with a group to the 8,000-foot (2,438-meter) summit of Mount Waterman on June 22 when he became separated from them.Taylor said more than 70 people have been searching for him in the mountains. 728
