QUITO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- China supports Colombia's peace process and respects the choice made by the Colombian people, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday.

Stressing the decisive role of development in socialism with Chinese characteristics, Xi said the country would focus on economic construction, guiding the nation through the "new normal" with bespoke measures, while tackling any difficulties and cultivating advantages.

The Chinese leader urged the five countries to strengthen coordination and communication in major international issues and regional hot issues, in a bid to jointly tackle global challenges such as natural disasters, climate change, infectious diseases and terrorism.

"China opposes terrorism in all forms, and will continue to support the Pakistani government in fighting terrorism, and safeguarding national stability and people's security," Lu said.

Since then, officials from the two countries are in constant contacts and delegations from Iran and China have visited the other country for further negotiations on mutual ties, Pang said.
