NEW YORK CITY — A worker that helped put up this year's iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas tree found a special gift inside its branches.Wildlife rehabilitation experts said they received a call Monday about an owl that the employee rescued from the branches of the tree.The worker tucked the saw-whet owl away in a box, and it was transported safely to the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center, where he's being tended to and is said to be in good condition.Once he gets a clean bill of health, he'll be released back into the wild.In the meantime, he's getting plenty of fluids and mice and even has a new name that fits just right — Rockefeller. 648

NFL offensive lineman Richie Incognito was arrested at an Arizona funeral home Monday, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.Police report that they were called to the Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary at 3:30 p.m. for a disorderly conduct call. Incognito, whose father died earlier this week, as upset with the staff and allegedly damaging "property" inside the business and shouting at employees.Incognito also allegedly said that he had guns in his vehicle and threatened to shoot employees, according to the police report.The 35-year-old free agent offensive lineman was charged with misdemeanor threats and disorderly conduct charges. NEW YORK (AP) — Twitter has blocked a post from an adviser to President Donald Trump who suggested that masks do not work to stop the spread of coronavirus. Scott Atlas joined the White House in August as a science adviser. He had tweeted “Masks work? NO.” The post said widespread use of masks is not supported. It was blocked Sunday. A Twitter spokesperson says the tweet violated a company policy that prohibits sharing false or misleading misinformation about COVID-19. In such cases, Twitter disables the account until its owner deletes the post in question. Atlas called Twitter's action censorship. 613

NEW YORK (AP) — Dunkin' doughnuts and coffee is being combined with Buffalo Wild Wings and Arby's sandwiches.Inspire Brands Inc. said Friday that it is acquiring Dunkin' Brands Group Inc. for .3 billion, including the Dunkin' Brands' debt that Inspire will be taking on.The private-equity firm will pay 6.50 in cash for all of Dunkin' Brands' shares, which closed Friday at .71.Dunkin' Brands' stock surged to an all-time high earlier this week after the company confirmed the two were in merger talks.Dunkin', based in Canton, Massachusetts, also owns the Baskin-Robbins ice cream chain."Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins are category leaders with more than 70 years of rich heritage, and together they are two of the most iconic restaurant brands in the world," Paul Brown, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Brands, said in the news release.There are 12,500 Dunkin' stores and 8,000 Baskin-Robbins outlets worldwide.Inspire will operate Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins as distinct brands, the company stated.According to the New York Times, this is the largest restaurant acquisition in more than a decade. 1129

New data shows that those who use Duolingo — a popular language app — can learn the equivalent of four semesters of university study. The app is free for all, and parents and teachers say it is a good supplement for students of all ages who are learning from home this fall.Averill, 10, is quite the Duolingo master. Her Spanish teacher recommended the app to pair with her in class lessons a few years back. Averill took that one step further.She's currently learning Korean. When she masters that, it will be her third language."My dad is Korean, and so my grandparents speak Korean," Averill said. "I'm trying to learn it because we're planning a trip to Korea to visit some relatives and I'm trying to learn it so I can speak to them a little bet,ter than I can right now."She likes to take what she's learned and practice on her grandparents. So far, she says, she's doing pretty well.Korean and Spanish are two of the 39 featured languages on Duolingo.
