It’s seeking to fill 33,000 open corporate and tech positions.During the online event, Amazon says it will mobilize 1,000 recruiters to provide 20,000 career coaching session to attendees.Attendees will be able to select their fields of interest: hourly roles; tech and non-tech positions at the company’s headquarters, corporate offices, and Tech Hubs; jobs for veterans; and opportunities for students and recent graduates.The “career day” will also include three hours of main stage programming that will feature fireside chats, panel discussions, and interviews with leading career-advice experts and Amazon executives. Life coach and “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown and former pro-football player and NASA astronaut Leland Melvin will headline the event.The main programming will last from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET. (KGTV) — An immersive, pop-up museum dedicated to avocados will open in North San Diego County this summer."The Cado" pop-up museum will open in San Marcos' North City development, near Cal State San Marcos, this summer. The unique museum features six rooms of interactive art installations that allows fans to dig deeper into the fruit.Visitors can experience things like the Ripe Room, a room clad in avocado-skinned walls, or learn all about the growing process with Jason Mraz (a farmer in addition to his music success). School is back in session at Ohio State University. However, more than 200 students aren't returning to the classroom just yet after they were suspended for violating the school's new coronavirus pandemic policy.Ohio State leaders say 228 students broke campus guidelines about social gatherings since returning to campus.Students began moving back to the Columbus campus on Aug. 19. Upon their return, the university told students they needed to wear masks, practice social distancing and limit their get-togethers to no more than 10 people.There's no word on how long the students' suspensions will last, but school leaders hope it will show others how serious they are about controlling the spread of COVID-19 on campus.Several other large universities across the country have been forced to suspend classes after large outbreaks of the virus on campus. Notre Dame shifted to remote learning after 150 students tested positive for COVID-19 after a week on campus. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill made a similar shift after 130 students tested positive for the virus after a week of classes.Also last, school administrators at Syracuse University admonished a group of students for holding a large gathering on the school's quad, adding that the even may have already derailed plans for in-person learning. 1332

"I came the day before and it was 57 degrees," says Walter Frank of Santee. "But I don't mind that it's hot. It gets to 90 degrees, I'm great... I'll go run two miles."Not everyone agrees, and many people were out early trying to get their exercise in before it gets hot. A heat advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday for the coast and valleys. On top of the heat, dry and gusty winds are expected in the inland and mountain areas of the county, elevating fire danger.It was 96 degrees in Santee Monday, with a high of 98 expected Tuesday and above average temperatures all week.
