John McCain, posted a hateful message she received from a stranger the same day President Donald Trump disparaged her late husband.McCain posted a photo of the private message on Twitter and wrote, "I want to make sure all of you could see how kind and loving a stranger can be. LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A local city councilman is making a desperate plea for tips tonight after his wife was attacked outside their home. It happened just off Palm Street after 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A disturbing picture of the incident was painted in a Facebook post by Lemon Grove City Councilman David Arambula. He writes that his wife was "brutally attacked' while going to the trash can. He adds that the attacker, "opened our gate, then hit her over the hit her over the head with a block of wood. This was completely unprovoked and unexpected."One neighbor described her as traumatized, conscious and suffering a head wound. Deputies say the 38-year-old woman escaped into her home, while the man ran off. The motive remains a big mystery. Neighbors say they've had issues with people wandering the area, high on something."There is a sober living facility a few blocks away. We've had a few incidents of people in their own zone, yelling and screaming - but nothing violent," said neighbor Tim Bossard.Arambula posted on Facebook that his wife is "getting better."The attacker is described as a black man about 30 years old, 5'9", and 175 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, dark denim shorts, high socks, white shoes, sunglasses and a blue hat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was injured in a machete attack in San Diego’s Talmadge neighborhood Thursday night, San Diego Police say. According to police, the incident happened just before 7 p.m. on the 4800 block of of El Cajon Boulevard.Police say the suspect walked up to the victim, who was sitting in his car, and attacked him with the machete. RELATED: Video shows machete attack in EscondidoPolice say the suspect shattered the vehicle’s windows with his machete. The victim got out of the car and ran off. But the suspect threw the weapon at the victim. The blade hit the victim in the back as the suspect then ran away.The victim received a a 3-inch cut on the ride side of his back, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are looking for the suspect. They say he was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants and ran northbound. If you have any information, you're asked to call the San Diego Police Department. 960

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in East Village Wednesday night. According to San Diego Police, the stabbing happened on the 1500 block of Commercial just after 5 p.m. Police say a 26-year-old man was involved in a fist fight with the suspect when, during the fight, the suspect stabbed the victim in the ribs. The 26-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene and hasn’t been located, police say. He is described as a 35-year-old black man approximately five feet, seven inches tall and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a light-colored, short-sleeved shirt and had a scar down his abdomen. 698

 A Pizza Hut manager in Florida threatened to punish employees who missed shifts by evacuating too early for Hurricane Irma.In a memo, the manager said workers at the Jacksonville restaurant have a "responsibility and commitment" to the community, and that employees who needed to evacuate would get only a 24-hour "grace period" before the storm."You cannot evacuate Friday for a Tuesday storm event!" the notice read. "Failure to show for these shifts, regardless of reason, will be considered a no call / no show and documentation will be issued."It also said that employees would be required to return to the city within 72 hours of an evacuation.Pizza Hut said its "local franchise operator has addressed this situation with the manager involved.""We absolutely do not have a policy that dictates when team members can leave or return from a disaster, and the manager who posted this letter did not follow company guidelines," the company said in a statement.The company added that all stores in Irma's path had been shuttered and wouldn't reopen "until local authorities deem the area safe."Pizza Hut declined to say whether the manager involved has been disciplined.Jacksonville authorities issued the first evacuation orders for parts of the city on Friday.
