Health care worker Amanda Solt is one of the lucky COVID-19 patients who survived the disease.“I remember them pulling my arms up over my head, under my pillow and then they took the pillow, and that's the last thing I remember,” said Solt. She was in the hospital and ICU for weeks back in June. It wasn't until she received a convalescent plasma donation that she started to turn a corner.“They helped me hold the phone up to my ear, so I could give a verbal consent. To help me sit me up in the bed, literally, they were holding me and helping me sign the paper, so I could give consent. And I just remember the nurses were like, ‘say yes.’ Yes, I remember that and honestly, I feel like I owe my life to them and to the person who donated for sure.”The nurses helped Solt take a picture the moment she got the plasma. She says it saved her life and now she's advocating for others to donate.Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar also pushed for donations Wednesday during a briefing on vaccines. HHS is increasingly concerned about supply with rising cases.Plasma is given to hospitalized patients earlier now.People with COVID antibodies can donate plasma as often as every seven days for up to three months. Just one donation can help up to four people.“You have the chance to truly, truly make a difference in life or death for somebody,” said Solt. The American Red Cross saw their distributions of convalescent plasma increase 250% in November compared to September. You can make an appointment to donate online through their app or over the phone. 1571

HONG KONG – Hong Kong Disneyland is closing again due to COVID-19 concerns, according to multiple reports. In a statement obtained by CNN and CNBC, a Disney spokesperson said the resort will temporarily close starting on July 15.Disney says the closure is in line with COVID-19 prevention efforts that government and public health authorities are implementing across Hong Kong as the area experiences a spike in coronavirus cases. The spokesperson added that the resort’s hotels will remain open with “adjusted levels of services.”The closure comes less than a month after the park reopened to visitors on June 18 after first closing in January, when the coronavirus pandemic began in China. When the park reopened, officials implemented a list of health and safety measures, including social distancing in queues, restaurants, attraction vehicles and other facilities. Character experiences with close interaction were also suspended. And visitors were required to wear masks. The Hong Kong attraction was the second Disney-themed park to reopen worldwide, behind Shanghai Disneyland. The latest to reopen was Disney World in Orlando, Florida, over the weekend. Many are concerned about Disney World reopening as Florida continues to report major spikes in COVID-19. Just Sunday, the state shattered the national record for the largest single-day increase in positive coronavirus cases. California had the previous record of daily positive cases — 11,694, set on Wednesday. New York had 11,571 on April 15. 1512

HAWAII — There was a close call at a preschool in Hawaii. The Hawaii State Department of Health says a classroom assistant mistook Pine-Sol for apple juice while serving snacks. The assistant at Kilohana United Methodist Church in East Oahu was preparing a snack for the children and grabbed a bottle of the cleaning liquid from a clean-up cart in the kitchen on November 27.The assistant apparently mistook it for apple juice because of its similar color, the school's director told the health department inspector.A classroom teacher smelled the cleaning product and stopped students from drinking it.EMS evaluated three students who took small sips of the cleaning liquid, but none of them needed treatment. One parent whose child was in the class says she was shocked a mistake like that could happen. The State Health Department says each year about a dozen people accidentally ingest Pine-Sol, and half of them are kids.CNN contributed to this report. 966

Homicide detectives in Florida are investigating what they say appear to be the discovery of human remains after a jogger found something and notified the St. Petersburg Police Department. #stpetepd investigating human head found on the side of the road on 38th Av S between 31st and 34th St. South. Anyone with info call 727-893-7780 pic.twitter.com/zoICcaYvpI— St. Pete Police (@StPetePD) July 7, 2020 The area is used by several drivers to cut to busy 34th Street South and police officers hope someone may have seen something suspicious while driving on 38th Avenue S.The area where the remains were found does not have any surveillance cameras and is not in direct view of many homes or businesses, according to detectives.Officers spent hours Tuesday looking in the wooded area around the overpass but did not find the rest of the body.Ernest Lee lives in the neighborhood and says he was in disbelief Tuesday morning as the path he walks several times a week turned into a crime scene.“I do a lot of walking and we have a whole community that walks around here so I’m surprised none of us came across it," Lee explained. “The whole neighborhood is concerned because that could be someone we know.”Detectives say the woman who found the remains told police she jogs in the area often but did not see anything suspicious during her previous run in the same area over the weekend.Rafael Lopez, a spokesperson for the St. Petersburg Police Department says it is too early to determine the gender, age or race of the remains. Lopez also said the head was decomposed and it is unknown how long the remains may have been present near the road.“We do have a wooded area on both ends so although we are in the center of the city, it occurred in a pocket where it is pretty hard to determine if anyone saw anything at all," Lopez added. "We’re asking the public if they saw anything or were around this area in the last several days to give us a call.”This story is developing. Stay with ABC Action News for updates.WFTS's Dan Trujillo and Sarah Hollenbeck first reported this story. 2099
