Several days after Sacramento County declined to bring charges against two police officers who shot and killed Stephon Clark last year in his grandmother's backyard, California's top prosecutor announced a similar decision.Police said they fired at Clark because they believed he was pointing a gun at them, but only a cellphone was found at the scene.State Attorney General Xavier Becerra said Tuesday that his office conducted its own investigation and could not find evidence the officers acted illegally."There's a young man who's no longer alive, with two sons who won't have a father, whose mother I just met with, who's grieving. TAMPA, Fla. — A man arrested on Friday is accused of shooting and killing a Florida couple on Halloween, just days after they welcomed a new baby. Tampa police say Tyrail Kendrick, 26, is facing two first-degree murder charges in the deaths of Stanley Peck and Tia Pittman. Police responded to the 1700 block of West Walnut Street shortly after 7 a.m. on Oct. 31 after receiving a report of shots heard in the area.After arriving, they found Peck and Pittman suffering from gunshot wounds. Peck was pronounced dead at the scene and Pittman was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. 616
