GLOBE, Arizona — Police are investigating a shooting at a Globe, Arizona bar Sunday night that left two people dead.The shooting occurred at the Jammerz bar around 11:30 p.m. local time; police say a lone gunman walked in and opened fire. Four people were shot during the incident, and two of those people were killed. There is no word on the condition of the surviving two victims.One person of interest was taken into custody. Authorities said they are confident the person in custody is the suspect. It appears to be a random act of violence, according to information from police. At issue is the latest lawsuit filed by Republicans attempting to thwart President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. In a unanimous decision Saturday night, the state Supreme Court threw out a judge's recent order to halt certification of any remaining contests. The justices say the underlying lawsuit was filed months too late. HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. -- Health officials say there has been a confirmed case of Naegleria fowleri, a brain-eating amoeba, in Hillsborough County, Florida.The amoeba is commonly found in warm freshwater like lakes, rivers, ponds and canals, according to the Department of Health. Infections can happen when the contaminated water enters the body through the nose. The peak season for Naegleria fowleri is July through September. The amoeba is found is more common in the southern states, DOH said.Infection is very rare in Florida, as there have been only 37 reported cases with exposure in the state since 1962, according to DOH.
