Hunter misused campaign funds for relationships with five women. The information about the spending was released in a motion filed in court ahead of Hunter’s September trial, to “establish his motive to embezzle from his campaign,” prosecutors said. (KGTV) -- Proponents of Proposition 15, a measure that would affect commercial and industrial properties, said it would bring in much needed money to local governments and schools.“In public schools, we are in dire need of full and fair funding,” said Christina Benson, an elementary school teacher in National City and president of the National City Elementary Teachers Association.Prop. 15 would base property taxes for commercial and industrial land and buildings on current market value rather than original purchase price. This would apply to properties more than million. According to the Legislative Analyst’s Office, this could bring in anywhere between .5 to .5 billion per year.Benson said part of that would go toward teachers’ pay as well as programs, materials and supplies for classrooms.The ad for Yes on 15 said it would “close big corporate tax loopholes, protects homeowners, and cuts small business taxes.”Lynn Reaser, chief economist at Pt. Loma Nazarene University, questioned the use of the word “loophole.”“Businesses and homeowners all now face the same rules—large companies, small companies, wealthy homeowners, poor homeowners. (KGTV) - The nephew of baseball star Alex Rodriguez was kidnapped and held for ransom in New York Thursday after a deal involving a Lamborghini, various media outlets reported.Rodriguez’ nephew, 29-year-old Norberto Susini, met two men at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square to sell them the vehicle, WABC reported. The men then demanded Susini return a ,000 deposit but he refused.WABC reported the men then held Susini against his will in a hotel room. They demanded ransom from Susini’s business partners, who called police.The men turned themselves in at 4 a.m, according to WABC.Susini is a player in independent baseball leagues. 4S RANCH, CA (KGTV) - A rash of street racing on a straightaway in 4S Ranch has neighbors calling for the county to intervene.Surveillance images show the beginning of an illegal street race on Four Gee Road Tuesday morning that ended in a crash.No one was injured, but neighbors are growing weary of the close calls.“This most recent incident was probably the most severe case we’ve ever seen,” said Tony Cesario, who has dozens of the incidents on video.Cesario’s security camera on his back fence caught the moments before a BMW racing a pickup truck ran off the road.“This happens on a weekly basis,” said Michael Chard, another neighbor, “it’s teenagers.”Residents say they call the authorities when it happens, but the drivers are always gone before law enforcement arrives.“At some point, somebody’s going to get killed,” added Chard.The county has previously denied resident’s attempts to add speed bumps on the half-mile long straightway that runs from Mount Gee to Camino Del Norte.A hangup for their efforts is that Four Gee Road is used for fire access.The Rancho Santa Fe Fire District has the final approval for any road alterations as part of the the fire code.A spokesperson says the speed bumps can damage their equipment when they are responding to a fire.Lucy Chard was home when Tuesday’s crash occurred and she says it’s only a matter of time until happens again.“There was a line of kids right down there waiting for the school bus,” said Chard standing where the BMW crashed, “and if this happened a few hundred yards down the road it would have been a different situation.” 1610
