SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - For the second time this week, Rancho Bernardo High School Principal Dave LeMaster met with concerned parents Thursday regarding Monday's school threat.Students arrived for class Monday morning to find violent threats spray-painted onto around 20 locations on campus. They all indicated a school shooting would happen that day at noon, with messages including "murder, blood, chaos" and "Florida was nothing".LeMaster told 10News police arrived quickly and within minutes determined there was no credible threat.An email notification went out to parents around 8:30am, after class had started, although LeMaster said if there was a danger, notification would have been sent out much sooner."We work with law enforcement to make sure the situation is secure and everyone is safe, and oftentimes, communication comes after that,” said Poway Unified School District spokesperson Christine Paik.Word of the incident quickly spread among students and their family members, which provides a challenge for administrators to inform parents."In the age of social media and texting, sometimes those unofficial communications will beat us to it ," Paik said. "But we have a responsibility to be accurate before we are able to put out those messages.”One parent told 10News she thinks the school should immediately notify parents of any threat to the school to give them the option of keeping their kids away from campus, but other parents worry that doing so could cause unnecessary panic and disruption.PUSD said it will work on improving the time it takes to send notifications to parents. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Uber has filed paperwork with the FAA to start testing drones in San Diego for food delivery.The petition seeks a series of exemptions that would allow Uber to use drones to transport food in the city of San Diego.The FAA recently granted its first air carrier certification to a drone company, Wing Aviation, which will begin testing in Blacksburg, Virginia.In Uber’s application, it said it would be using the AirRobot 200 drone, a hexa-copter which is larger than typical drones used by videographers.It says the drones would not fly higher than 400 feet and have a range of 3.5 miles.There is currently a public comment period on the FAA’s website.An FAA spokesperson told 10News, “we will thoroughly evaluate all comments we receive, as well as the petitioner’s proposal and associated safety measures, before making a decision.”Uber declined to comment for this story. 901

In San Diego alone more than 2,000 people are on the waiting list. "There's never going to be enough organs but more people need to talk about organ donation so there can be more organs," said Lisa Stocks, Lifesharing Executive Director.On Friday, transplant recipients gathered to raise awareness about the issue and celebrate their new birthdays made possible because of organ donation.People can register to become donors on the Lifesharing website or at the DMV.You can also become a living donor by giving someone one of your kidneys. 742

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Traveler satisfaction stagnated year-over-year as airports struggle to keep customers happy, according to J.D. Power. According to the report, construction projects and passenger volumes are at least partly responsible for the trend. San Diego International ranked 13th out of 27 in the large airport category, with a score of 774 out of 1,000. To reach the conclusion, the report looked at six factors: Terminal facilities; airport accessibility; baggage claim; security check; check-in/baggage check and food, beverage and retail. “With major terminal construction projects now underway in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and many other airports, it is becoming impossible for travelers not to experience some form of disruption,” said Michael Taylor, Travel Intelligence Lead at J.D. Power. “While these projects are absolutely necessary to address surging demand, they are currently causing passenger delays and confusion. This translates into a rushed passenger experience and less money spent on food, beverage and retail—and it’s slowing the progress of the airport satisfaction we’ve seen in the past several years.”Meanwhile J.D. Power says the experience of getting through security at the airport has improved by five points.
