Ten female Mcdonald's current and former employees have filed sexual harassment complaints against the company over the past week.One worker in Chicago said that a McDonald's supervisor at the franchise store retaliated against her by reducing her hours when she reported instances of sexual harassment by management. The employee added that reports of the incidents were not taken seriously by a superior at the company-owned store, and the harassment did not end until she stopped working on Sundays.A 20-year-old woman in Durham, North Carolina, said that she was sexually harassed by co-workers and supervisors. She also said she was subjected to a hostile work environment at the company-owned store because she is black. The woman said she was made fun of by colleagues after reporting the behaviors and she eventually stopped turning to management.The complaints were filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in seven states, including Michigan, Florida and Louisiana. TANGIER, Va. – At just over one square mile, tiny Tangier, home to less than 500 people, sits surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia.No roads can get you there. The easiest way to travel to the island is via one of the daily ferries, popular with adventurous day trippers, who want a peek at how people have lived here for centuries.“It's all about the seafood,” said Mayor James Eskridge, better known by his nickname, Ooker. “It's a close-knit community.”That closeness, though, became a potential threat earlier this year, when the coronavirus began spreading throughout the country.“We were like most of the country: we were didn't know what it was going to amount to, how dangerous it was, how you would hear one thing about it and you would hear something else and so people were worried,” Eskridge said.They were especially worried because more than 40% of the people who live on Tangier are elderly, a population vulnerable to the virus. What’s more, there’s only a small clinic on the island and no full-time doctor.So, they made a few tough choices.The ferry services temporarily shut down, effectively isolating the island, and so did another thing at the heart of life there.On the island, church is everything. STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -- A Michigan police officer is being called a hero after the harrowing rescue of a 3-week-old girl was caught on the officer's dashcam.Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to a home in Sterling Heights on a report of an infant not breathing.Officer Cameron Maciejewski was the first to arrive and jumped into action. The officer was met by the family outside the home and took the baby, who was not breathing, into his arms.Officer Maciejewski is seen on video calmly taking the baby in his arms and performs back thrusts in an attempt to clear her airways. After a few seconds, the baby coughs up the obstruction and begins the cry.The baby was then turned over to the Sterling Heights Fire Department and transported to the hospital for evaluation.“If it wasn’t for Ofc. Maciejewski’s quick, calm, lifesaving actions, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different.
