Someone out there is sitting on a lottery ticket worth more than .5 billion, but has not stepped forward to claim the prize, according to ABC News. On Oct. 23, a single winning ticket was purchased in South Carolina for the largest Mega Millions jackpot in history. The ticket is also the single most valuable lottery ticket in US history. "We have not heard that the winner in South Carolina has come forward," Mega Millions administrator Seth Elkin told ABC News. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize. That means the winning ticket does not have to be claimed until April. If no winner comes forward, each participating state in the Mega Millions game will get back all the money that state contributed to the unclaimed jackpot, the lottery says on its website. The amount of money that goes unclaimed in state lottery programs is quite staggering. Nearly billion went unclaimed during a 12-month period from late 2016 through early 2017, lottery expert Brett Jacobson told CNN. While most of the unclaimed lottery winnings are from smaller prizes, there have been a few notable examples of massive jackpots going unclaimed. The largest known unclaimed lottery ticket was sold in Georgia in 2011 worth million. Elkin told ABC News that it would be prudent for whoever is holding the winning lottery ticket to sign it, keep it somewhere safe and consult a financial advisor before claiming the prize.  1490

Several NFL teams reported Wednesday that players had tested positive for COVID-19, putting at least three games scheduled for this weekend in jeopardy.According to ESPN and NFL Network, among those players who tested positive was Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore, the NFL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Gilmore played in Monday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, potentially spreading the virus to reigning Super Bowl champs.Gilmore's positive test comes after Patriots QB Cam Newton tested positive for the virus on Saturday. Following Newton's positive test, the NFL moved the Chiefs/Patriots game from Sunday afternoon to Monday evening. The Patriots did not leave for Kansas City until Monday morning, after a round of negative tests. Newton did not travel to Kansas City.In addition, at least one more player for the Tennessee Titans tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning, just hours before the team was scheduled to reopen its facility for the first time in over a week.NFL Network and ESPN both confirmed that the Titans would not reopen their facility on Wednesday following the positive test. The Titans have not practiced or met in person since last Tuesday, when several players and team employees tested positive for the virus. Since then, several more team members have also tested positive. The NFL requires multiple consecutive days of no positive tests before reopening a team facility. The Titans were set to do so on Wednesday after reporting no positive tests on Monday and Tuesday. The new positive test puts the Titans' game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills in jeopardy. The outbreak has already forced the postponement of the team's home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which was scheduled for last Sunday. Finally, ESPN reports that one member of the Las Vegas Raiders tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The Raiders lost to the Bills in Las Vegas last Sunday and were scheduled to play the Chiefs this Sunday afternoon. 1991

SpaceX has brought two NASA astronauts home from a historic mission.Robert and Behnken and Douglas Hurley — the first astronauts to travel into orbit aboard a commercially developed spacecraft — returned home in a splashdown mission Sunday, the first such mission in America in 45 years. They've been onboard the International Space Station for two months after launching in the SpaceX Crew Dragon from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.Their spacecraft is nicknamed Endeavour."For the most part, we've had pretty good luck with, with Endeavour," Hurley said. "As far as on-orbit testing is performed, just like it did for launch and rendezvous. So we expect nothing different for the splashdown."The splashdown took place despite the presence of Hurricane Isaias, which did not have a significant effect on the mission. 825

Six White House officials have violated the Hatch Act, according to a letter from the Office of the Special Counsel to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington Executive Director Noah Bookbinder. The six officials are White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah, White House deputy director of communications Jessica Ditto, executive assistant to the President Madeleine Westerhout, former special assistant to the President and director of media affairs Helen Aguirre Ferré, press secretary for the Vice President Alyssa Farah and Office of Management and Budget deputy communications Director Jacob Wood. The Hatch Act limits certain political activities of federal employees in an attempt to prevent the federal government from affecting elections or operating in a partisan manner. This includes sending partisan messages from social media accounts used for official government business. All six violated the Hatch Act by using their Twitter accounts, which they use for official purposes, to tweet messages considered partisan by OSC. Four of the six tweeted messages that included "#MAGA" or the slogan "Make America Great Again!" Shah tweeted a message from his account citing research from the Republican National Committee. Ditto retweeted Shah's message with RNC research.OSC found that these messages violated the Hatch Act because they use the political slogan of a current candidate, President Donald Trump, who has announced that he will be running for re-election in 2020. Tweeting those slogans from an account used for official purposes as a federal employee is considered political activity, the letter states. In Shah's and Ditto's cases, they highlighted research conducted by a political party, which OSC considered engaging in prohibited political activity.OSC issued warning letters to all six officials and warned that further engagement in behavior considered to be "prohibited political activity while employed in a position covered by the Hatch Act" will be considered "a willful and knowing violation of the law, which could result in further action," the letter states.OSC does not comment on open or closed Hatch Act investigations but confirmed to CNN that the letter to Bookbinder was authentic. CREW, the organization Bookbinder runs, submitted Hatch Act complaints to OSC about 10 White House officials that were addressed in the letter. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN.The Office of the Special Counsel enforces the Hatch Act. The act, however, is a guideline, so violations are not considered crimes. Punishment can range from a simple reprimand to the loss of a job.But OSC has little power to discipline senior White House appointees. If a senior White House official appointed by the President is found in violation of the Hatch Act, and OSC determines disciplinary action is required, "OSC can only send a report to the President alerting him of the violation," said Zachary Kurz, communications director for the Office of the Special Counsel. "It is up to him to impose any discipline."Nine Trump administration officials have been cited for violating the Hatch Act as a result of complaints from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington , including Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, deputy assistant to the President and communications Director for the Office of the First Lady Stephanie Grisham and White House director of social media Dan Scavino, according to a news release from the organization. 3539

Several U.S. airlines are boosting their flight schedules ahead of the Thanksgiving in anticipation of a surge in travelers flying during the holiday amid the coronavirus pandemic. An American Airlines spokesperson told FOX Business that they plan to increase its flights from Nov. 24-25 and Nov. 28-30 by 15%, bumping up from an average of 3,500 flights per day to more than 4,000 flights over the holiday.United Airlines said that they would boost capacity, with the carrier predicting Thanksgiving week will be its busiest since March, so they are planning to add more than 1,400 domestic flights that week. The carrier added that they'd "swap in larger aircraft" to accommodate any last-minute travel demands. In December, United said it'll add more than 140 daily flights and increase capacity on more than 350 routes as passengers look to travel during the holidays that month.JetBlue and Delta Airlines are also adding more flights in anticipation of passengers traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday.JetBlue said 25 flights from New York City and surrounding areas to Florida, California, and in the Caribbean, such as Port-au-Prince, San Juan, Santiago, and Santo Domingo, will be added between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30.Meanwhile, Delta said it'll increase to over 3,800 peak-day flights per day during Thanksgiving.Delta said it'll increase service to leisure destinations in Hawaii, Mexico, and Florida. 1417
