His death sparked renewed nationwide protests and calls of police reform.Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in January along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others, was the fourth-most tweeted about person in 2020.Former President Barack Obama was the fifth-most tweeted about person in 2020.Meanwhile, the most liked tweet of 2020 was from the account of Chadwick Boseman on August 28, announcing the “Black Panther” star’s death. In a vote Thursday night, the Milwaukee Public School board voted to end their contract with the Milwaukee Police Department. The 8,000 yearly contract allowed for the schools to have up to six officers available to respond to incidents on school grounds.Protesters were asking that the money go toward helping students in other ways. Students and parents expressed concerns about school leadership's willingness to call the police when something happened."We had senior pranks. I don’t think the police should have been called for our senior prank. Bringing eggs and toilet tissue to school. There shouldn’t be police outside of school giving us tickets for doing our senior prank,” said Madison Walker who attended Rufus King High School.Milwaukee has become the latest school district to end formal relationships with local police departments or stop school resource officer programs.In early June, the Minneapolis Public School Board voted unanimously to end their contract with Minneapolis police to have officers on campuses. Portland, Oregon followed soon after. Just last week, Denver, Seattle and two districts in the Oakland area voted to end their formal relationships with local police. Time Magazine reported the presence of officers on school campuses has increased in the last two decades, partially because of the increase in school shootings since the 1999 tragedy at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. (KGTV) -- A local woman has a warning about a man she says is a real charmer with a hidden agenda.Elizabeth, 23, says the man is a good-looking guy in his late 20s who was a Facebook friend for two years.  They had mutual friends in common but had never met.He messaged her recently, asking her out to a sushi lunch. She agreed, but during the drive, she says he fidgeted with his blinkers and asked her to exit the SUV to make sure they were working. She agreed, and that's when he took off, with her purse, wallet, and sunglasses.When she posted his photo on Facebook, she says she got a flood of responses: dozens of other women with similar stories of theft."One woman said, 'He told me he had a gift for me in the trunk, and as soon as I got out, he drove off with my purse and several hundred dollars,'" Elizabeth recalls. She says none of the women called police because the man told them he had friends in a cartel. She's hoping some of them will now come forward to stop the thief.    "He's not going to stop," Elizabeth said. (KGTV) - Mayor Serge Dedina delivered the annual State of the City address Monday night.The mayor spoke to a room full of government, community, and business leaders at Burress Auditorium. The address, lasting about 30 minutes, highlighted the cities accomplishments and outlined a vision for the future.“We have one of the safest cities in San Diego County,” Dedina said when discussing the cities crime rate. He also talked about many of the infrastructure projects ahead, as well as affordable housing. The mayor also addressed the elephant in the room at the end of his speech; the ongoing issue of water quality due to Mexican sewage runoff.
