President Donald Trump again broke with his top public health experts Monday and said that he believed that a COVID-19 vaccine would be approved "by the end of October."Trump made the statement during an interview on "Fox & Friends" Monday morning. When asked which vaccine would be approved first, Trump noted that Pfizer's vaccine candidate was doing "very well," and also listed several other candidates, including those made by Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and AstraZeneca.Top health officials in the Trump administration have said that it likely won't be until the end of the year that a vaccine will be approved for Emergency Use Authorization. Earlier this month, Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that vaccine authorization won't come until after election day because trials likely won't be filled until the end of September, and the leading candidates require two shots that need to be taken at least 28 days apart.Earlier this month, several large drugmakers signed a open letter that promised that the companies would not bow to political pressure to approve a vaccine before it was scientifically proven to be safe and effective.Last week, the federal government released a "playbook" for the roll-out of a COVID-19 vaccine, which noted that essential workers, health care professionals and "vulnerable groups" would receive the vaccine first. Fauci has warned that Americans likely won't return to "normality" until the middle of 2021.The vaccination campaign faces an uphill battle from a skeptical public. An AP poll taken in May found only about half of those polled said they would get a COVID-19 vaccine. Experts say at least 70% of Americans need to be vaccinated or have immunity from a previous contraction in order to protect the country from the virus. 1839

President Donald Trump maintained the felony counts Michael Cohen admitted to were not actual crimes in an interview aired Thursday."What Michael Cohen pled to weren't crimes," Trump told Fox News, suggesting Cohen accepted a plea deal on the campaign finance violations because the other crimes he admitted to were more serious."He made a great deal. He was in another business totally unrelated to me where I guess there was fraud involved," Trump said."A lot of lawyers on television and lawyers I have say they aren't crimes," Trump said on the campaign finance violations. "He makes a better deal when he uses me."The President downplayed his relationship with his longtime lawyer."He worked for me, you could say more or less part time," Trump said. 'He had other clients."The-CNN-Wire 799

President Donald Trump is upset with White House press secretary Sarah Sanders over her responses Wednesday regarding his alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels, a source close to the White House tells CNN.Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, filed suit against Trump this week alleging he hadn't signed a nondisclosure agreement that would have prevented her from discussing their alleged sexual affair. On Wednesday, Sanders told reporters that the arbitration was won "in the President's favor." The statement is an admission that the nondisclosure agreement exists, and that it directly involves the President. It is the first time the White House has admitted the President was involved in any way with Daniels."POTUS is very unhappy," the source said. "Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday."Trump's personal lawyer has said the President "vehemently denies" any sexual encounter between the two.  954

President Donald Trump publicly attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci — his administration's top expert on infectious diseases — just days after Fauci criticized the president's campaign taking a March interview of his "out of context" and using it in a campaign ad."Actually, Tony's pitching arm is far more accurate than his prognostications," Trump tweeted Monday, referencing Fauci's errant first pitch at a Washington Nationals game earlier this year.Trump's message came in a quote tweet of a Sunday CNN article in which Fauci confirmed a recent Trump campaign and took him "out of context."The ad, which touts Trump's efforts in fighting COVID-19, features a quote from Fauci during an interview on Fox News. 712
