TORONTO (AP) — The NHL believes all seven Canadian teams will be able to start the season playing in their home arenas.NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said Thursday the league believes it is clear to play in Canada during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic after discussions with the five provincial governments with NHL teams to try to gain approval to start Jan. 13.The NHL realigned its divisions for the season so that the North Division — which features all seven Canadian teams — would not have to cross the U.S.-Canada border, which remains closed to non-essential travel until at least Jan. 21.The league released its schedule Wednesday, with each team playing 56 games instead of the usual 82.On Tuesday, the league released its coronavirus-related protocols, which include coaches must wear masks at all times while behind the bench, owners can't have face-to-face meetings with players, and teams can only travel with up to 50 people, according to the Associated Press. The AP also reported that the league had asked the players not to go to restaurants, bars, and clubs and not have outside guests at their homes. 1140

This is harassment pure and simple. This ‘inquiry’ by NYC democrats is 100% motivated by politics, publicity and rage. They know very well that there’s nothing here and that there was no tax benefit whatsoever. These politicians are simply ruthless.https://t.co/4dQoDzQlRX— Ivanka Trump (@IvankaTrump) November 20, 2020 327

Thursday marks National Coming Out Day — an LGBTQ holiday that encourages young queer people to be comfortable with their sexuality and live an open lifestyle.2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the first National Coming Out Day, first celebrated in 1988. According to the Human Rights Campaign, the day was started by gay activists Robert Eichberg and Jean O'Leary. Recognized by all 50 states, the day is celebrated each year on the anniversary of the Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, which took place on Oct. 11, 1987.As a psychologist, Eichberg wrote extensively on the act of "coming out" to friends, family and coworkers. in 1978, he established "The Experience," a community workshop in Los Angeles that encouraged young  LGBTQ people to live an openly gay lifestyle among friends and family.According to Eichberg, when LGBTQ people lived an open lifestyle it made their friends and family more likely to be accepting of queer lifestyles. It also encourages other gay people to live openly and helps develop a support network for those who may be struggling with their sexual identities. The Human Rights Campaign has published a resource guide to coming out, which you can read below. TORRANCE, Calif. (CNS) - Police Monday announced the arrest of a 47-year-old parolee accused in the shooting deaths of three men during a fight at a bowling alley in Torrance. The arrest of Reginald Wallace of Los Angeles, who had been on parole since 2017 following a conviction for assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm, was announced by Torrance police Chief Eve Irvine at a Monday afternoon news conference at police headquarters.Wallace was arrested early Sunday and was being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, according to sheriff's inmate records. Officers responded to a shots-fired call just before midnight Friday at Gable House Bowl, 22501 Hawthorne Blvd. Three men were pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. Two other men sought medical attention on their own.Irvine said a fight involving a few people grew into a brawl involving as many as 15. At some point, Wallace pulled a handgun from his pocket and fired into the crowd, Irvine alleged, adding that he was believed to have been the only shooter.Witness Dana Scott previously told reporters that a group of women got into a fight inside the building, then some men got involved. About a minute later, gunshots erupted, Scott said.Another witness, who refused to give his name, said a fight erupted and he heard nine gunshots.Wes Hamad, a 29-year-old Torrance resident, said he saw a ``huge fight'' break out that lasted about five minutes, blocked the entrance of the bowling alley and devolved into ``complete chaos.''``I grabbed my niece and started running toward the far end of the bowling alley,'' he said. ``As we were running, we heard 15 shots.'' Killed were Michael Radford, 20, and Robert ``Tank'' Meekins and Astin Edwards, both 28 and best friends. Meekins leaves behind a 5-year-old son, whose godfather was Edwards.``When I go home and tell him that his daddy's not coming back, it's going to break his heart because he's a daddy's boy, always has been,'' said Meekins' mother, Anglean Hubbard. ``And I wonder the person that sat up here and took all of these people's lives, how is he sleeping? How is he dealing with that? He took somebody's father. Somebody's son. I just want justice for my son and all the people in there.''Relatives of all three victims told reporters they believed the men were killed while trying to break up the fight. No employees of the bowling alley, a community fixture for about five decades, were injured, Harris said.Torrance Mayor Pat Furey described the shooting as ``horrible'' in a social media post.Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Los Angeles, issued a statement Monday morning saying she was ``deeply saddened'' to learn of the shooting at Gable House Bowl.``This shooting weighs heavily on my heart, as it took place right outside of my district in a bowling alley that should be a place for fun and celebration for members of our community,'' the lawmaker said. ``I extend my deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and all those who have been impacted by this shooting. I would also like to thank the Torrance Police Department, first responders, and staff of the Gable House Bowl for their bravery and response to this incident.'' 3264
