EDINBURGH, Britain, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- China and Scotland on Tuesday vowed to expand their cooperation in a host of areas ranging from trade and investment to education and culture.

The MIIT promised more policy support, including special funds, talent cultivation and a better business environment. Measures will also be rolled out to build industry clusters, set up key laboratories and encourage data sharing.

Disposing with the formality usually seen during state visits, the two leaders spent more than seven hours in two days, discussing issues of importance and charting the course for one of the world's most crucial bilateral ties.

"Members of the EAEU are preparing an agreement on trade and economic cooperation with China. In parallel, there are contacts between the EAEU and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization...In general, this is what President Putin called the Greater Eurasian Project," he said.

"The Hinkley Point C project is not only the largest energy investment in the UK, but also the largest infrastructure investment project in Europe," said the official, adding that this is a good example of how clean energy cooperation can function as a pillar of international partnership.
