A recent incident in Central Florida has state wildlife officers seeing red. According to a Wednesday post on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website, a gopher tortoise was found completely covered in red spray paint with concrete on its limbs and the top of its shell.The tortoise was found by two people in the middle of a road near the Lake County town of Montverde. FWC says it is both "illegal and very harmful to a gopher tortoise to apply man-made substances, such as paint or concrete, to any part of their body or shell." The gopher tortoise, which is a threatened and protected species, is now being rehabilitated.If you have any information about who may have applied the paint and concrete on the tortoise, please call our Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922), #FWC or *FWC on a cellphone, or text/email Tip@MyFWC.com. 924

A Milwaukee County bus crashed near a busy college campus on Tuesday.The bus crashed near Johnston Hall on Marquette's campus in downtown Milwaukee.The Milwaukee Fire Department says at around 5:15 p.m. a Route 12 bus lost control while turning left. The bus ended up on the sidewalk near Gesu Church. Marquette Police said five people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. MU police also said the bus hit Johnston Hall and caused damage to the front of the building. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.  564

A member of production on “The Batman” has tested positive for COVID-19 and the U.K shoot has been temporarily suspended. Multiple media outlets are reporting the film's star, Robert Pattinson, is the person who tested positive.A spokesperson for Warner Bros. said Thursday that the individual is isolating in accordance with established protocols and filming is temporarily paused. They would not release any other information about the situation or affected crew member.Vanity Fair and Deadline are both reporting Pattinson tested positive for coronavirus, however no other information about his situation was available.Pattinson is starring in the new film from director Matt Reeves which had resumed filming just a few days ago after an almost six-month hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic.The film was originally supposed to hit theaters in June 2021 but was pushed back to October 2021 because of the production delays.Before filming was stopped earlier this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, enough was shot to put together a trailer for "The Batman." 1081

A social media post crediting a Nashville man for stepping in to comfort a flight passenger who was body-shamed has gained plenty of attention.Savannah Phillips wrote on Facebook about her experience after being called "a smelly fatty" on board a United flight from Oklahoma to Illinois on Monday. The mother said she always preferred to sit by herself in flights because she was self-conscious about her weight, and feared others would feel uncomfortable sitting next to her.A man she described to be in his 60s with yellow sunglasses who claimed to be a comedian sat next right next to her.Her post stated,"As soon as I got buckled, he sat back down...his phone was maybe 12 inches from my face and he proceeded to text someone that he was sitting next to a "smelly fatty." I don’t even know what the rest of his text said. I turned my head away as fast as I could. I was shocked and it was like confirmation of the negative things I think about myself on a daily basis. Before I knew it, I could feel hot, salty tears coming down my face."Phillips told Scripps station WTVF in Nashville she began to cry and even prayed for the man. Unbeknownst to her, another passenger sitting in the row behind them across the aisle also happened to see the message on his phone."He tapped him on the shoulder and said, 'I need to talk to you'" she recalled. "The guy took his earphones out and turned around and he said, 'We're switching seats right now.'" Phillips remembered the passenger saying he was not going to put up with what the man said. They eventually switched seats, and an unlikely and pleasant encounter ensued."When he sat down he saw me crying and asked why I was crying." Phillips said. "He said to not let it get to me and not to worry about it, and we started making small talk which made me feel better." She learned the passenger who helped comfort her was Chase Irwin, a father and manager at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row Nashville on Broadway.Phillips shared her experience on social media in hopes he would be recognized, and within half an hour, he acknowledged reading the post.Irwin emphasized to WTVF on the phone that he did not intervene for publicity. He described feeling infuriated once seeing the message from the man's phone after he further said he was going to vomit. "I was going to wait until the end of the flight to say something but I could not have this guy sit next to her this whole flight and her thinking he's making fun of her," Irwin said. "It really gets to me deep down when I see someone crying, and when I saw her crying it really hit me hard and actually got sick to my stomach.""I was so blessed and happy he was there," Phillips added. A Monroe County woman is facing second-degree murder charges after police say she decapitated her seven-year old son in her Sweden, New York home Thursday night.According to 13 WHAM in Rochester, court documents show Hanane Mouhib, 36, used "a large-bladed kitchen knife to intentionally stab [the boy] in the upper-left area of the back." The victim, Abraham Cardenas, was a first-grade student at Barclay Elementary School in the Brockport School District. Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter said several other people, including children, were in the home at the time of the attack. Mouhib graduated from nursing school at the College at Brockport in May 2011.Officials at Rochester Regional Health System told 13 WHAM Mouhib worked as a nurse practitioner at Genesee Mental Health from January 2016 through January 2017.The town of Sweden sits on the western edge of Monroe County, and is bordered on the west by Orleans County and on the south by Genesee County.  1019
