FORT DODGE, Iowa — A Colorado man is facing charges of assault for throwing water on Rep. Steve King, a controversial Republican U.S. Representative from Iowa. Rep. King was having a group lunch at the Mineral City Mill and Grill restaurant in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Friday when he was approached by a man who inquired about his identity. According to a spokesperson from the Fort Dodge Police Department, after learning the man at the table was King, the suspect then threw a glass on water on King. It's unclear if the man said anything to the U.S. representative when the alleged assault took place. The release states others at the table with King were also splashed and police were called. “Based on witness information, it is believed Mr. King was specifically targeted due to his position as a United States Representative,” a spokesperson for the police department said in the release. The suspect was identified as Blake Gibbins 26, of Lafayette, and was charged two counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct. Two sets of human remains found in the backyard of Chad Daybell's property have been confirmed to be those of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan.According to a news release Saturday from the Rexburg Police Department in Idaho, the medical examiner's office confirmed their identities after performing an autopsy.Earlier this week, family members said in a statement that they were informed the remains were JJ and Tylee, who were reported missing last year. Daybell was taken into custody Tuesday and appeared in court Wednesday when a judge set a million bail. He is currently jailed on charges of “destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence."A prosecutor said during Wednesday's initial court appearance that they were aware the remains were that of children, but at that time officials had not yet fully identified them. Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has tested positive for COVID-19, his office announced Wednesday afternoon.The announcement came a few hours after a spokesperson for the governor confirmed that first lady Teresa Parson had tested positive for the coronavirus.Parson, 65, has displayed no symptoms and feels healthy, according to a statement from his office, while the first lady has minor symptoms."Needless to say, it's been quite a day ...," Parson said in a video posted on social media Wednesday afternoon. " ... First of all, I want everybody to know that myself and the first lady are both fine." Parson said both he and his wife were tested earlier in the day. A Cleveland police spokesperson confirmed that two Remington shotguns were stolen from two police cruisers that were parked near the city's Justice Center and set on fire during the riot that broke out during the police violence protest last month.During the May 30 riot, News 5 cameras caught people in the streets vandalizing police cars.One of the cruisers was tagged with the word "pigs" on the trunk.
