With the 20th anniversary of 9/11 coming up next year, the children of 9/11 first responders are coming together to share their stories for the first time in a new book due out next year."Even though we all experienced the day, we wall experienced it differently," said Susan Fiorentino, daughter of NYPD Retired Detective Pete Fiorentino, who responded to the World Trade Center attacks. "I was 10," said Susan, now 29 years old. It was Fiorentino's idea and she is leading the project to collect stories. "It’s important to raise awareness this is still a community that is suffering and we need to support them."So far, she has gathered 50 stories, including her own. She says the experience of 9/11 has influenced her and so many other 9/11 children to lead a life of service."I had a lot of people who said because my father because my mother was a first responder, that is what made me get into the first responder field," she said.She is still looking to collect more stories about how the children of 9/11 responders saw their childhood and now adulthood impacted by the day, documenting history through the eyes of some who have never told their stories before."Through connecting with others in my own experience in getting help with being a 9/11 first responder child has helped me so I hope it would help others as well," she said.The book will be published next summer. It’s really stiff,” Grein said.Grein hurt her ankle a couple of years ago and says she’s been able to feel temperature changes in it ever since.“It’s just affected by the weather, cold, rain, everything,” she said. “I’ve told my friend before that I think it’s going to rain and then it did.”Grein isn’t the only one who says she can feel the weather change. Many people with arthritis pain say they can feel it in their joints or bones.At Englewood Primary Care in the Swedish Medical Center, Dr. Scott Joy says it isn’t an urban myth when people say they can feel the weather change.“Big changes in temperature can change blood flow through the body,” Joy said. “Any time we get a large weather system moving through the area it changes the pressure, and people who have chronic joint pain will often notice more joint pain.”A big temperature change can affect three groups of people in particular: those with heart disease, asthma or arthritis. The weather can pose serious health risks for all three groups, which is why Joy says it’s important to be prepared.For people with heart disease, it’s important to have all of your medications on hand and to take them as prescribed. Joy says it’s also a good idea to have some nitroglycerin on hand.If people experience pain in their chest or shortness of breath with the weather change, it’s important to seek medical help.“These are things that can actually lead to death and serious morbidity and mortality. It can lead to unnecessary ER visits, it can lead to long hospital stays, it can even lead to stays in the intensive care unit if you have a severe event,” Joy said.For people with asthma, along with having their chronic inhaler on hand, it’s important to keep a rescue inhaler nearby since the weather change can trigger some inflammation in the upper airways.For those with chronic joint pain, it’s important to have an anti-inflammatory on hand in case the temperature change causes pain.For everyone else, it’s important to bundle up and protect your skin.“You are at real risk for skin damage and dry skin and frostbite,” Joy said.As always, Joy says it’s also a good idea to stay hydrated as well and don’t overexert yourself.This story was originally published by 2433

You will soon be able to freeze your credit report for free, a step that can help protect you from identity theft.Many called on Congress to make freezes free after the massive Equifax breach last year that exposed the personal information of more than 146 million Americans to hackers.The provision was included in a broader bill passed by the House on Tuesday, which rolled back regulations on banks created by Dodd-Frank. The bill now heads to President Donald Trump's desk.When you place a freeze on your credit report, it prohibits the credit rating company from disclosing your personal information, effectively preventing anyone from opening a credit card or loan in your name. You'd need to lift the freeze if you want to open a line of credit yourself.A freeze goes a step further than a credit monitoring or fraud alert service. Those generally notify you of suspicious activity after it happens.But under current state laws, there is often a fee to place and lift a credit freeze Most security freezes cost between and , though several states have already made them free.Plus, you'd need to place a freeze on credit reports at all three credit rating agencies — Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion — and pay a fee at each of them.The new legislation will make placing, lifting, and permanently removing freezes free no matter where you live. It also requires consumer rating companies to fulfill your request within one business day if made online or over the phone, and within three business days if requested by mail.The changes will take effect about four months after the bill is signed.To set up your own credit freezes, go to the freeze page at each credit agency's website individually: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. He was charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct first degree — sexual penetration with a person younger than 13.According to a release, Baker has been a pastor at St. Perpetua Parish in Waterford, Michigan, since 2008. Prior to that, Baker was a pastor at St. Mary Parish in Wayne, associate pastor at Sacred Heart Parish in Dearborn and associate pastor at St. Hugo of the HIlls Parish in Bloomfield Hills.The Archdiocese of Detroit reported a tip to the lead prosecutor on the investigation, resulting in the charge.“This is just the tip of the iceberg,” Nessel said. “Our clergy abuse investigative team is working day and night to review the hundreds of thousands of pages of documents and files seized from all seven of Michigan’s dioceses last fall. At the same time, we continue to receive calls daily from victims who know we will listen to them, believe in them and investigate their allegations.
