DESCANSO, Calif. (KGTV) - Reports of a positive COVID-19 test at an East County Catholic church are raising concerns about possible exposure.The church is Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Descanso. On a Facebook post, a board member of the Descanso Town Hall reported a positive case was just revealed to the church pastor by a parishioner. In a statement, a spokesperson for the Catholic Diocese of San Diego says the parishioner is a volunteer who helps prepare the altar for services. She wore a mask and maintained social distance.According to the post, "the person who tested positive was actively involved in all mass and church activities while having symptoms for a week so exposure is possible."The woman remains ill and is now in quarantine at home.The post goes on to explain that exposure was possible for anyone who went to mass in the past two weeks, which includes some 16 different services.It's unclear how many people that totals, but one parishioner tells ABC 10News pre-pandemic attendance for bigger masses numbered in the dozens.The apparent positive test comes amid coronavirus shutdown orders banning indoor church services in the county.The Diocese says the pastor, Father Enrique Fuentes, received a coronavirus test. Any outdoor masses won't take place until the result is known.According to the Diocese, the county has not yet contacted the church about the positive case, but the pastor decided to go ahead and close the church for deep cleaning and inform other volunteers she was in contact with. 1539

You need to book that now," said McKinley. Airline ticket prices will start to go up as it gets closer to Thanksgiving. McKinley said while travel search engine sites can give you options, going to a travel agent may be better. "This day in age, you might think, 'Hey I should go online. It might be easier and cheaper.’ But travel agents generally don't charge for their services, and they got their expertise because they do this all the time," McKinley said.Resorts in the Caribbean may be having deals right now due to hurricane Irma, but AAA recommends to do your homework on the region and resort to make sure everything is operational before booking. “If you see these really good deals, that you can’t believe. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden discussed coronavirus vaccines during an event Wednesday after being briefed by public health experts on the issue.During his speech, Biden said that while he trusts what scientists say about a potential vaccine, he doesn’t trust President Donald Trump.He mentioned what he called Trump’s “incompetence and dishonesty” surrounding the distribution of personal protective equipment and coronavirus testing. “We can’t afford to repeat those fiascos when it comes to a vaccine,” said the former vice president. “I trust vaccines, I trust scientists, but I don’t trust Donald Trump, and at this moment, the American people can’t, either.”The Trump campaign has accused Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, of sowing doubt about a potential vaccine by expressing concerns that politics count taint the approval process.Asked whether his comments could undermine public trust in scientists, Biden said the vaccine approval process should be “totally transparent” and it should be evaluated by a “board of scientists” that could give the public an unbiased opinion.Watch his remarks below:Biden's speech took place the same day that the federal government unveiled initial plans to distribute COVID-19 vaccines when they become available.According to a plan put forth by the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, the first round of vaccines would be reserved for medical professionals and essential workers. Despite multiple reports suggesting that the hit sitcom "Friends" would be dropped from Netflix's lineup on Jan. 1, Netflix announced on Monday that the sitcom will remain a part of Netflix's lineup through 2019. Talk about a pivot!The speculation was fueled by a notice on "Friends'" Netflix page that said the sitcom would be on through Jan. 1. This comes less than a week after WarnerMedia announced the launch of a new streaming service sometime in 2019.The previous reports prompted fans of "Friends" to launch an online petition to encourage Netflix to keep "Friends" as part of its service. Dennis Shields was found dead Friday inside his Trump Tower apartment.Shields is the on-again, off-again ex-boyfriend of TV personality and Skinny Girl brand creator Bethenny Frankel.Shields, age 51, may have died because of a drug overdose.
