RALEIGH, N.C. – The Associated Press has declared President Donald Trump the winner in North Carolina, though Joe Biden is still projected to win the presidency. The AP concluded Friday that there were not enough outstanding ballots remaining to be counted in the state that would allow Joe Biden to overtake Trump’s lead of 73,697 votes.Friday was the deadline for counties in North Carolina to certify their results. Following updates from most counties in the state, Trump leads Biden by 1.3 percentage points.Trump campaigned aggressively in North Carolina with in-person rallies at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, including gatherings in Fayetteville, Winston-Salem and Greenville in the weeks before the election.He was scheduled to hold the Republican National Convention in the state but pulled out after a fight with the state’s Democratic governor over coronavirus restrictions. It was moved to Jacksonville, Florida, before being largely canceled all together.Trump’s win in the Tar Heel State puts the president at 232 electoral votes and Joe Biden remains at 290 votes.Biden is still projected to win the presidential election, since he has surpassed the 270-vote threshold needed to claim victory.The only state the AP has yet to call is Georgia, which is conducting a recount because neither Biden or Trump leads by more than .5 percentage points. RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - A 20-year-old Ukrainian man was shot and killed in Ramona this week, according to Sheriff's investigators.Ivan N. Nivinskus, of Ramona, died of apparent gunshot wounds Sunday just after 8:30 p.m., investigators said. The San Diego County Medical Examiner has ruled Nivinskus's death a homicide.San Diego Sheriff's deputies said deputies were called to the 15900 block of Wood Rock Lane for reports of possible gunshots and someone yelling. (KGTV) -- A San Diego County gym owner has been charged with several misdemeanors for violating public health orders, according to the District Attorney’s Office.According to the DA, Peter San Nicolas, owner of Ramona Fitness Center, is facing five charges for “violation of California emergency services act.”According to the document, each of the misdemeanors carry a ,000 fine.The complaint states that from June 2 through July 17, San Nicolas “did refuse and willfully neglect to obey a lawful order.”San Nicolas says he violated the orders because he felt it was the right thing to do. He is getting legal help to fight the charges."It's about all businesses; small businesses like the salon across the street, the coffee shop down the road, the couple of new restaurants that have opened and are struggling." San Nicolas said. "It's not about me anymore. It's about all small business, and I feel it's my duty to stand up.""We understand and sympathize with the significant hardship placed on businesses who are required to remain closed. But public health orders are in place to safeguard the health of everyone in our community amid this deadly pandemic,” the District Attorney’s office said.“Along with our law enforcement partners, we work with businesses to give them opportunities to achieve voluntary compliance.
