(KGTV) — California officials announced Thursday the state's REAL ID identification is now in line with federal requirements.Last December, the Department of Homeland Security notified state officials that requirements for the new identification and drivers license needed to be stricter. Now, those applying for the card will need to show one proof of identity, original or certified; one proof of Social Security Number; and two proofs of California residency. A complete list of acceptable documents is available online here. Those who have already received a REAL ID license or card will receive a letter in the mail asking them to confirm their address and must mail the form back to the DMV. This will count for their second form of identification.RELATED: San Diego DMV customer has warning about websitePreviously, the state only required one proof of residency and counted the post office's delivery of the ID as the second form, placing it at odds with federal requirements.Beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, the REAL ID drivers license or ID will be needed for airline passengers traveling domestically or accessing federal facilities or military bases. However, airline passengers will still be able to show a passport to travel within the U.S. as well.Residents are encouraged to schedule appointments to apply for a REAL ID and fill out the necessary paperwork (available online) before visiting DMV offices. So far, the state estimates about 4.1 million REAL ID drivers licenses and cards have been issued. 1518

(KGTV) - Congressman Juan Vargas (D-Chula Vista) and Congressman Darrell Issa (R-Vista) announced Monday new bipartisan legislation to rehabilitate the Tijuana River Valley after ongoing sewage spills. The legislation would provide grant funding and develop a plan to update the South Bay region’s infrastructure, a spokesman for Rep. Issa said.“The impact of these continuing spills will be felt for generations to come unless we take action to stop it now. Allowing the sewage and wastewater to flow up into San Diego County not only hurts small business and our tourism-reliant economy but also poses serious health consequences for local communities and the border patrol agents who have been harmed in their ability to secure our border by the ongoing contamination. Solving this problem will come only with strong bipartisan and international cooperation. I’m proud of the work Juan and I have put into this bill to ensure that it gets cleaned up and that we take preventative measures to ensure it never happens again,” Rep. Issa said.RELATED: Millions of gallons of wastewater spill from Mexico“Sewage from Tijuana has been flowing into the Tijuana River Valley, into beaches in San Diego County, and our communities for too long. This legislation will help rehabilitate the Tijuana River Valley and rebuild the infrastructure needed to prevent future spills,” Rep. Vargas said. 1393

(CNN) -- Mike Tyson isn't shy about his love for marijuana. On Monday's episode of his podcast, aptly named "Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson," the former heavyweight champion shared just how much he spends on the psychoactive drug."What do we smoke a month?" he asked his co-host, former NFL player turned marijuana advocate Eben Britton. "Is it ,000 a month?""We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month," Britton said, referencing Tyson Ranch, the boxer's forthcoming 40-acre marijuana farm and "resort.""Is that crazy?" Tyson asked, though it seemed he already knew the answer. His guest, rapper Jim Jones, widened his eyes."That's a lot of weed," he said. "That's nonstop, every second weed right there."Tyson's latest career pivot might be his most lucrative.Shortly after California's recreational marijuana laws went into effect in 2018, he launched Tyson Ranch, which sells nine strains of cannabis flower, potent extracts and soon, edibles. In addition to production facilities, the luxury resort is set to feature an edible factory, amphitheater and "glamping" campgrounds. 1087
