A baby has died after being snatched from his mother's lap by a monkey in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.Neighbors rushed to help after hearing the mother's screams on Monday afternoon in a village near Agra city, according to Agra Police Assistant Superintendent Abhishek, who goes only by his first name.The baby was just 12 days old."They threw stones at the monkey to force it to drop the baby but by the time he abandoned it, he had already attacked him severely on the face," Abhishek told CNN.The child's body was recovered from the terrace of an adjacent house.Police said his injuries indicate he was bitten on the face.Monkey attacks are common in India, especially in the country's capital New Delhi.In Central Delhi, government offices are surrounded by dozens of monkeys swinging from the trees or lounging in the sun on the sidewalk.According to the Delhi government, 268 cases of monkey bites were registered in the city in 2016.In 2018, the Indian government said it had approved a pilot project for immune-contraception to control the population of wild animals including monkeys in the city. 1129

(KGTV) - Attorneys for a former student of the Bishop’s School in La Jolla announced Tuesday a child sexual abuse lawsuit against the elite private school and the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. The man claims he was repeatedly molested by a female computer science teacher starting when he was 16 years old. 10News has reached out to the San Diego Police Department and The Bishop's School about the allegations but neither have commented at this time. Calls to the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego were unanswered Tuesday afternoon.The alleged abuse included sexual intercourse on campus, at [the defendant's] house, and other La Jolla and San Diego area locations, the lawsuit states. “On multiple occasions, teachers and Bishop’s Headmistress saw [the Plaintiff] exiting the computer lab together, with no other person in the room,” the plaintiff's attorneys said in a news release. The teacher was 32 years old at the time the alleged affair started, and was married with children, according to the release. In the release, attorney and victim’s advocate Vince Finaldi describes a long history of "criminal sexual activity" at the prestigious private high school."The Bishop’s School is a prestigious institution which charges parents more than ,000 per year in tuition. They advertise their affiliation with the Episcopal Dioceses as a way to assure parents of the moral rectitude of the school. Yet, they failed miserably in their most basic responsibility—keeping their students safe from sexual predators.” In May of this year, 10News reported that the school investigated numerous claims of sexual abuse at the campus. The school said that "14 alumni have come forward to report incidents of sexual misconduct."The school also reported then that "ten different perpetrators were identified as having engaged in sexual misconduct that would potentially constitute a crime at the time of occurrence."READ: The Bishop's School dealing with multiple claims of sexual misconduct spanning several decadesTuesday's news release included a statement from the plaintiff saying they want to keep their name private per "of every victim of child sexual assault in California." (KGTV) - The nationwide group behind Women's March is organizing a national school walkout following Florida's high school shooting.The group is calling for students, teachers, and parents to take part in walking out of school for 17 minutes - a nod to the 17 lives lost in the Feb. 14 shooting - to "protest Congress' inaction to do more than tweet thoughts and prayers in response to gun violence.""Enough: National School Walkout" is being scheduled for 10 a.m. local time across the U.S. on March 14.
